LOL. the Captain 8000HD was my first receiver.
Beautiful picture in HD and a real nice user interface.
It is actually an "unforgetable receiver."
Still have mine- but currently we are separated - kicked her out of bed years ago for a lean mean SV8000HD

Real nice user interface ?!?! There has not been an uglier gui prior to or since the captain - couldn't make it worst no matter how hard you'd try. lol

It's a paper weight ... no files , no source and it was only good for bev (mpeg2) hd . Had a great picture tho . Mine's still collecting dust somewhere - just don't have the heart to get rid of it. lol

that will never happen, I think next time I do an electronic dump run here mine will be making the trip, need to make room for new junk LOL

My feeling exactly but now my SV dongle is dead and this box rests peacefully in a closet.

Whitehot, don,t give up hope. My SV8K is back again with a new serial interface. Luck for your Captain.

this thread made me Laugh and smile of the day my captain arrived by Canada Post. I was so eager to get this HD machine up and running and the ease of loading files by usb! said Goodbye to my captiveworks 600p . Both great Boxes still Have them aswell in my electronic graveyard in the Furnace room.
