View Full Version : 2 annoyances: doubles channels & wrong channels for the HD bird

Hi guys,

I installed my Jynxbox Ultra HD a week ago and fiddled with it every day. Works fairly well: no freezing, crisp image and quick connection to P$. However, I've been experiencing some problems that I guess are easy to fix for one who knows what he's doing.

1- Double channels. At some point (can't remember if it was after a blind scan or a hard reboot) many channels appeared in double in the EPG. Yesterday night I did a factory reset, hard boot, blind scan on 91W, hard boot, blind scan on 82, hard boot. And this morning I still have some channels that appear twice in the EPG. Any ideas?

2- I've been having some hard time with the HD channels since the beginning of the week. At first I thought it was on the P$ side, but this morning I tried to go through only the HD channels list (on 82) and, oh crap, the channels that were appearing in the list were the same as for the 91. Is it a bug or did I do something wrong? Jynxbox's documentation isn't the best around to provide answers...

Thanks in advance, your help will be appreciated.

Load the latest file (v231) and rescan (auto scan is better for me at least).

do not use file (v231) you need file (v217) = (v231 is a bust/ no good, to many problems to list.

I've got 215 installed, and I don't need the motor features. Will 217 really do a difference?

go into menu setting click on channel , delete all channels and do a auto scan , you should be good to go.

I did, and for some reason it returned over 1700 channels spread on 5 sats... Don't ask me why; I've got a 24'' dish set on 91 and 82.

Since there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the scan on sats I don't want, I'm back to blind scanning 91 and 82 alone. It will take less time to remove the double channels than going through that list of 5 sats worth of channels.

Scan each sat separately. Also unchecked network scan to off.

go to lyngsat and look at the tp list for each sat you want to scan, your tp list needs to match what they have, you have to many
TPs in your list, after you do this then you need to do a manual scan on each tp with network scan off.

Hehe. Thanks for the info. I found out about lyngsat at 4 AM yesterday while googling my problem. And you're right: manual scanning saved my day.

Do the channels on each TP change often? Because after auto-scanning 82 it came up with -three- entries for many channels, each entry on a different TP. I'm wondering if the feed switches from one TP to another once in a while...

you never do a blind scan or auto scan with an fta reciver that you are going to use with a provider like b3v or dn, if you do you will
have to many TPs, if you have a provider tp 12224 and the auto or blind scan adds tp 12225, you will have 2 of every ch because
this is the same freq, so if it adds 8 or 10 TPs, do the math, thats why people have all the extra CHs.
hope this helps.
