Have a wd 1tb hard drive formatted to fat32, seem to have a issue getting it to work on my dreamlink as i get a message the says initialiing usb drive and then it will say recovering usb drive and then it will say invalid usb drive not sure what is wrong

You might need an externally DC powered one, I think the USB port is only rated to around 500 mA, look at the spec's on the drive to see what it's DC current requirements are.

How did you format the hd? I bought a 1tb seagate with external power supply and tried to format it with windows and still didnt work, I ended up using a program (forget which one) and worked after that.

It might need to be formatted in Linux ETX2, my best guess.

All fails check the users manual.

Try a program called "guiformat", it specifically formats FAT32 .It's what I use and haven't had an issue, it's also free.

I used swiss knife to format the hard drive and it has external power supply

Used qui format and got it to work for me thanks for the help, hopefully it will keep working
