was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to get my VS9k out of the bootloop it is in. It boots, shows time, and in stead of going to no channel, it just boots again. I have seen files to repair but wondering if there is a tutorial for repairing this problem. thanks !

If this just started doing this then try this first:

Shut it down with the switch in back, then disconnect the coax coming down from the dish to the LNB input, then power it back up with that coax disconnected, see if it will boot up.

If it does, then you have a problem with ether the coax, switch or LNB, I would check the coax first, there could be water in the connection(s).

If it still dose the same thing then there could be a software glitch, or power supply problem.

This is one of the problems these receivers have had especially now due to the age of these units. There are some software solutions that have worked sometimes, posted in the vs files (bootloop fix) section. Good luck to ya.

Yea, tried the so called software solutions. It changes not the condition. I think it is time for a new hd box. Any suggestions would be welcome :-)

try loading a virgin channel list...if the boot loop fix did not work than most other times with the vs HD loading a virgin ch list will work...worth a try...
