have they ever changed the annoying server info screen so you can see what it is that you entered so peeps don't go nuts wondering why they won't connect?

nope, still there, and really i don't mind it, if you don't connect try and try again, it's a small blimp to an otherwise great receiver. They may address it in a future release they may not, they are cleaning up the audio issues right now and to have files out period from the dream team is always a good thing

Is there a difference between the 115 and 116 BIN? They are the same size and only 2 days apart.

I loaded these one after another, followed the directions for 115 of course, before loading 116. One thing that seems noticeable right away is that my epg seems to populate much faster. I was always having to manually populate it on 239, now just moving channels up and down (not on epg, on actual channels) seems to repopulate it quickly. Nice improvement, DL!

That obvouisly must have been an improvement after 115...

I find no difference in the sound functionality of the latest 116 bin. Both AC3 and PCM settings act similarly and neither one controls the volume from the receiver.

How do you control the volume then? I'm still happy with the 112 file. I also prefer the time left bar oppossed to the signal bar. Quality bar is more important as signal can be good but still have poor quality if you're not dialed in just right. And if you are dialed in right there's no need for the bar.

I scanned with the short channel name and got this one about 20% of my channels.

1213 TV 213 - 12399Y

Never had that on any previous file as they all scanned in right with long name. Well mostly all.
EPG populates as before about two hours.

Just playing around right now.
When I try to watch one of the channels with the odd numbering it eventually changes to the short name.

MMMMM doesn't work on all of them.

Time for a rescan I think.

I noticed audio volume for sd channels are lower than hd channels on 116.

That is odd but true. That is only on the HDMI output whereas on the optical output its the other way round and is not controlled by the receiver.

I installed 116 using the instructions in the How To...Setup sticky in this section. After the install my SATS (82,91, 110, 119, 129) all have trouble locking (I get orange instead of blue bars on S and Q). Any ideas on what part of the instructions I may have screwed up or are there any post-installation steps I need to perform that weren't in those instructions. I never had this problem pre-install. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I dont recall but I think the same thing happened to me. Have you tried rebooting receiver ? If that does not work and you have the previous settings saved use the c.bin to just replace the channel list. If you dont have the backup you may have to do a factory default and then a rescan of all sats.

There maybe somethinf wrong with your settings, did you write them down before you updated so everything qould be exactly the same, my neighbour mmade the upgrade and has had no issues

I did a factory reset through the Menu and then set up my SATS. The only settings I took note of before setup were the ones that display on the Menu > Dish Settings screen. To enter the setup for my SATS I just put in the port number values in the DiSEqC 1.0 field and turn LNB 22KHz to on for one of my SATS as it shares a port. Again, the only problem I am having is with 119.
This is the setup I have (LNB Frequency = 11.250 is set for all SATS)
Port 1 Sat 119
Port 2 Sat 110
Port 3 Sat 129
Port4 Sat 82 LNB 22khz = On
Port4 Sat 91

Your settings look ok unless you have 119/118 on port one. If you have both then the setting needs to be 10750 instead of 11250. Also 119 has some tp's that are not working. Try using 12.297 or any other tp that has good signal.

I tried using a different TP under Menu > Positioner Settings and was able to get a lock on 119. So I scanned and only got about 200 channels. Is that right? Or should I be getting more?

Yes as dishuser said. So try doing a "manual"scan of all the TPs. You will find that there are a lot of TP's that dont have signal so just do a scan on the TP's that are active and note if you are getting signal on both Horizontal as well as Vertical TPs.

Im curious if any other members had this issue. I was messing with my sat settings but don't recall exactly what option I moved, but when I exited I got the "no channel screen". I had lost all my scanned channels & favorite
channels. Did a hard reboot & still nothing. I had reset all my sat settings & autoscan to get everything back. Lost my favorites though & did not have them backed up so that sucked. I don't know if this is 116 related or not. I am new to this box & I have only every load factory file & 116 files on the box. All I can think is that there was a certain combo the of settings the box didn't like. Just a weird little bug ...
