I have a question, ive seen a lot of posts about niagra 4, and I have seen a post, not sure if it was here, that did actually show pictures of new bev cards, im not saying they are n4 cards, just wondering.

Anyways, I was looking at a Wikipedia page that showed a chart, or sateliite tv companies around the world, and a few were already using n4,

are those servies being used on iks? Or is the just dn and bev, and skymex I believe?

If they haven't, couldn't some team try to get an iks server running with the companies that use n4? to see if it is possible to get a workaround, or a crack for it?

I got my first fta receiver just before the hu cards for dave were made useless for watching video. So I've seen Nagra 2 and 3 come; with all sorts of speculative predictions, most of them wrong. So best advice I can give you is wait and see. Very few people really know, and I don't think they'll be posting what they know. Watch what's going on in Europe, they usually lead the way.

Nobody knows for sure what Nagra 4 constitutes, but it's safe to assume the card swaps main purpose is to end iks.May not even be able to read the tier data, making it rather difficult for us to use.
the card swap mite be a way to try and put an end to iks or is it something to do with this new toy/ nagra 3 iso 7816 smart card
tester/ programmer/ or it mite just be time for a new card, the only thing we do know is we dont know.

Not sure how a card swap would put an end to IKS to be honest.
IKS is based off of a subbed card to begin with.

This information is old, it came out when N3 was first introduced from what I at that time believed to be a source with some insight on the subject (at that time I was a mod on another site operated by BUD). This is the information as I remember it - The N3 cards already have the base code/programing in them for N4, so a re-issue of the cards will not be required when it is determined that this change will be needed . . . all that will be required is that the cards get a download through the box switching the primary read from the N3to N4 . . . If true this means that the implimentation of N4 will be much easier and less expensive . . . It was said that the development of the eastern arch was the beginning of the moves that where required for the implimnetation of N4 and tha once they had what they needed in place there they would begin implimentation of these procedures on the west and when finished complete the transition to the N4 protocol . . . Do not kno the validity of this but the person who posted was noted for their inside information on the implimentation of the N2 and particularly N3 progressions when they happened . . .

this last post seems to make the most sense .......in the end C. E's. ultimate goal is to be the biggest sat provided wi-fi .....that is what he spends his considerable assets acquiring more of .......also when they decide to turn the western arc mpeg2-off/mpeg4-on the supply of 1st gen mpeg4 new & refurbished ird's & the cost for subscribers shouldn't be an issue.
