I have tried on another forum to sort this out and to Marcella if I have bugged you there too much I apologize. My first problem is knowing what to key into NOI in the server box. I have info from "M" as follows.
1. NFPS.BZ = 37.xx.xxx.xxx
2. NFPS.BZ = 79.xxx.xx.xx
Of course the xx's have numbers associated with them.
My question is what exactly do I key into "server" in NOI. I have tried a lot of combinations but still get an error "cannot connect to server" I don't have my nova hooked up yet but I still think NOI should start even if it is not communicating with my nova. I have seen numerical strings with : colons between numbers and I am not sure if I should include include the letters NFPS.BZ and the = equals sign.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Frank

the 14 digit number is user and pass.
use the correct ip in the server location.
use the port# in port location.
here is your des keys/copy and paste.
61:03:40:34:45:40:69:70:98:71:23:41:21:34
when all is entered click save or all will be lost.
ok,
do this.
use the settings tab and enter your info as i stated.
go to advanced and make sure "use these settings" is not checked.
go to main and click quit.
open noi and click start...you should see snow.
go turn on your box and put on working channel..say 200 and go back to pc and you should see "server 1" at the top and channel 200 in red or hopefully green at bottom of a backwards count down screen where snow used to be..
green means its working and tv should be playing.

Thanks, yappapi, i am close to getting this thing to work. My main issue is the info I put into the server location. Do I key in "NFPS.BZ =" followed by a serious of numbers and periods, or do I just key in the numbers? I have tried both ways and still can't get NOI to start without an error message.

now that your settled in to the "correct" area...
check you code for port and domain.
enter that info into noi and give it a try.

good luck and i knew why you posted in the other section...because you had nfps and your new here and the re-seller tried to help in private ect..
for the most part you will post in your box related area and post server related questions/problems/channels "confusing at times i know" in your correct server area.
good luck

actually noi works great to check donations for errors/bad code of any kind.
and this is an sd box so everything should be on dhcp and he should be using the 255.255.255 bin.

Should be set for static, and the gateway, has to be manually changed to his comp's IP. But to answer his question, you either enter the domain name, which could be 1.NFPS.BZ or the IP address not both! In the server info box.

NFHD is the only box that needs to be set up static and make network changes.
there is a file .255 that you load on SD boxes and set to DHCP.
you also leave your network set the same.
works perfect and has sense the file came out.
its simple and dummy proof.
