It depends on the hd tv you are using, and how you set the AV setting on the tv.

The feed is what will give you quality with any box and I personally haven't seen any difference using different boxes on a plasma hd tv. jmo

yeah, it looks just like the other boxes, but i seen something different than the other boxes, this one shows all the screen, with non-HD receivers you dont get the whole screen, its cutted from the sides, but yeah it all depends on the feeds, but HD channels look amazing, just like if you are using a tv antenna to see local HD Channels

The HD receivers are made to view HD channels and therefore HD channels looks great, however the SD channels does not look that great
on most HD receivers. The SD channels looks much sharper on SD receivers.

I have kbox and dreamlink HD. The SD channels looks much sharper on the Kbox compared to my Dreamlink HD on the same Samsung
LCD TV.
I have also seen SD channels on Jynx HD and Sonicview 8000 HD, again it does not even come close to Kbox picture quality on SD channels.

Same settings and same cables. HD receivers do an amazing job on HD channels, but improvements can be made on SD channels for most HD receivers.

LOL. I wish I could do that. Take out the tuner from Kbox and put it into Jynx HD (then you have a triple tuner box - LOL)

If your TV is on 16:9, the SD channels are stretched horizontally to fill the screen, making everyone short and fat. Changing to 4:3 will get the correct proportions but leaves the sides black. My LG has a zoom setting that fills the screen with the SD image in the correct 4:3 proportions but cuts off some of the top and bottom. That's my preferred way of watching SD channels.

I am comparing the 16x9 picture on both the HD receiver and SD receiver for SD channels.

Then you're seeing all short fat people on the SD channels.
