Hello gang, let me see if I can say this the short way, a couple of years a go my desktop died on me, so I asked my cousin the hacker to fix it, it could not be fixed some loose bolt touch the modem board circuit and kill it, so he made me a new PC with the following parts, but before I tell you the parts the problem is that now I need a real serial port wish notebooks don't have and the usb to serial cable in some cases it does not work, I turn the PC ON everything seams to be working properly but the monitor says NO SIGNAL.
This are the parts
1-Modem board ASUS I think the model number is: M2R32-MVP
2-Processor is AMD not sure wish one but it is liquid cool system
3-Video card is DVI GIGABYTE GV-RX26P512H 2 outputs and 1 S-Video output no VGA output at all.
4-HDD is SATA
5-RAM is DDR2-800 Brand Super Talent
Not sure if it is a DUAL BIOS or the sticker that says so was install before this ASUS came to the game
I tried a monitor a friend told me is not working and maybe I could fix it, so I bought the converter plug from DVI to VGA, NO SIGNAL, friend advise me to get a DVI Monitor so I manage to get one today, ACER 23" DVI and also has VGA input, when I got home installed it and same problem, no signal.
When my cousin gave me the desktop told me it had install the O.S. and was ready to use, but I can't do anything without a monitor, can any of you help me to find what is the problem? Thanks in advance TURBO

ok since the monitor isn't working I will go this route. When you fire it up do you see the hard drive light flashing and here the familiar beep code.

If the answer to those is yes I would say, more than likely it is a video card issue. It could still be a hard drive, motherboard, or RAM failure but unfortunately itis really guess work. To troubleshoot the system right now the first step would be to toss an old video card in the system and see if you get some kind of pic and then go from there with it

Saludos Amigo.I had same problem a while back as my homemade pc would start up but get no signal and no beep code. I tried replacing the video card and with different memory with no luck.Eventually my problem was a bad keyboard. So try with a different one and also check your mouse.Question is are you hearing any beeps when you turn it on?

That board has a video card built right in. Take the card out and plug in the VGA.

I haven't seen the built in video card but I'll look for the port,
I don't have mouse nor keyboard installed, I bought a combo both thing wireless but haven't installed it because of the no video thingy, I'll restart the CPU to see if I hear beep sound brb.

Check connections and if no go then pull card.
Follow what Benney suggested.
There is a conflict somewhere in the build.

No Beep sound, all the fans turn ON and the red led of the HDD has a constant blink, not the normal thing I remember the the desktop and laptop does, steady flash on and off each second not the very fast blinking.

If this is your board then the blue plug is a vga port.http://ca.asus.com/websites/Global/products/WZg6bF35gGlyC2Ug/P_500.jpg

Nope it didn't work with keyboard and mouse
I have a sata enclosure, can this be used to see if the HDD is good or not? Connecting the enclosure to my laptop?

You need to take it into a ER.

ok here is one of the stupid things that can really make you scratch your head as well. check to make sure there is no CD / DVD in the player

Maybe your memory is bad or not compatible. But also that would give you beeps indicating that. Do you have speaker connected. You should see a connector with a red and black cable close to the on off switch is connected.

I tried to install windows XP but it only beeps and no video also to monitor.
Could this one be easier to fix? TURBO

One more thing to check. You should have a 24 pin and also a 4 pin from power supply. If the 4 pin is not connected it will not boot. The 4 pin is right above the blue slot.

If it is a white square above the blue pci to the left, yes it is connected, once the power is connected to the wall there is a green led on the modem board that turns ON even if cpu is off, if I disconnect from wall the led dies.,

Nostradamus
12-24-2012, 03:08 AM
that green LED is just an indicator that the motherboard is getting power, when you try to start it do fans fire up as well or only for a split second

Gamer
12-24-2012, 03:08 AM
The green led is to let you know there is power on even though its shut off. Important to unplug whenever you are making changes in pc. Try moving your ram to another slot and see if you get a beep. As for your other computer start it up and listen for beeps. IF you hear 1 short and 2 long beeps then you have bad ram which is what I suspect.

No Beeps at all, the fans wish are 4 turn on and stay on until I do a force shut down, holding the power button.
The HP I got from bank, that one does beep and it is a non stop beep

You could try resetting your bios on your asus board. Unplug your computer and remove the round bios battery located under the sata connectors for a minute or two and this will reset. Now put it back and see if it will boot or give you beeps.
