It’s common sense that you don’t take a fighter that has been knocked out cold the way that Manny Pacquiao was against Juan Manuel Marquez and look to put him back in with the same fighter in their next fight. This isn’t like drinking alcohol the morning after a binge to try and recover from a hangover.
It’s just not smart to place a fighter like Pacquiao back in with the source of his hurt because Marquez is going to be the equivalent of a hungry wolf the next time he gets the Filipino in the ring with him next year if Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum chooses to throw Pacquiao back in the ring with Marquez.
Let’s be clear about this, Marquez is going to be ready to do the same thing to Pacquiao as he did last time except that it’ll likely be much easier the next time because the chances are there that Pacquiao won’t be able to take the shots from Marquez anymore. Marquez won’t be the same fighter he was this time because he’ll have another training camp with his excellent strength and conditioning coach Angel Heredia to work on his power even more.
Can you imagine what Marquez will be like if he’s punching with even more than he was last time. It’ll be bad for Pacquiao because we could him flat on his face out cold.
Sadly, Pacquaio’s trainer Freddie Roach doesn’t seem to have any idea for his fighter other than attack, attack, and attack. That worked really well for Pacquiao last time, didn’t it? If anything, Roach might tell Pacquiao to revert back to his jump in and jump out style that he used in the first three fights with Marquez, but that old strategy won’t work because that was how Pacquiao was knocked out in the fourth fight. He tried to jump in and land a shot and Marquez timed him with a right hand and that was that.
Pacquiao needs to go with another trainer or something because the stuff that Roach has been coming up with is failing miserably.
Arum would be wise not to throw Pacquiao back in the wolf in 2013, because Marquez is too strong, too smart and much too skilled for Pacquiao. But most of all this is just a dangerous fight for Pacquiao right now given how he was knocked out so badly. Arum has a deep enough stable that he can put Pacquiao in with one of his weaker fighters so that he can get an easy win under his belt.

Manny wants to redeem himself to his countrymen. But from what I have heard and read, the Filipino community was not
really surprised at the outcome of his match with Juan.. He kinda been sidetracked due to his everyday activities..
With his personal life and his quest for office in his country. My 4 or 5 friends said they thought he might lose, but not
in the fashion that he did. They are hoping he retires. He would do better to serve his country in politics.
Course noone knows how much money he has left. He does have to pay USA taxes since he earned it here.
I do see a rematch with Juan coming on,, but it better be soon. Marquez will be 40 by the time it happens.
Plus as I have stated before, and has been overlooked. Marquez had been knocked down and was taking some heavy
shots, nose broken, cuts and was being backed up when he landed the haymaker. If the bell rings, Manny is ahead by
2 rounds going into the 7th with some big momentum.
I would like to see a rematch. I think it would be very interesting.. The rematch would do better $ than the last one.
Marquez loves $$$ so I think it will happen. Gotta get that nose back in its proper place first though.
And of course Manny gotta get his marbles back in the proper slots.
What ever happen to Bradley???? he doing the once a year like Canelo and Floyd?

WOW i can't believe what i just read. pacman gets a little careless and walks into a punch, and because he
was careless. he should now be afraid of marquez. just think if he hadn't have walked into that puch. most
likely pacman would have won that fight in a couple more rounds. but that didn't not happen and he did get
knocked out and so now everyone says he's a washed up fighter. i for 1 don't buy in that. i think the problem
is. is that he is involed in too many distractions. if he was to give 100% of himself to boxing and not be
involved in the other political stuff that he is in. i think it's a no brainer he would rip marquez to shreads.
but he is a smart man, and he believes as i do. that there are much more bigger things than just boxing. boxing
is more like a hobby for him now, and it shows. so peeps say he has become soft, but i don't think so. i think
he has become very wise, for what he is truly focused on now will ultimately add much more to his legacy than
boxing ever will. i think he see's the bigger picture in by helping the humanity of his people. and not just on
himself as boxing would do just that. when your a great boxer your just that a "great boxer" nothing more.
but when you do something for the greater good of mankind. then you become a hero. hero's will always be greater
than boxers.

Well put amigo, we all saw this coming. His involvement in politics, church and other curricular activities took away lots of precious training time. Marquez was forced to make weight just as they were trying to make Cotto do, which brought about his action to step away from that fight and face Trout. Marquez instead, decided to maintain a low weight (143 pounds) but developed a huge muscle mass and strength beating Manny at his own game. If they so decide to go at it once more, JMM will beat him all over again. When someone beats you that way, no way you can beat him back. With all do respect, Manny was some how using, now he is not, that is the difference. You could see it in his punch and his ability to take a punch. Huge difference.
