Sorry for the noob question but I just "upgraded" from a Nano2 to a Jynxbox Ultra HD v2 over the holidays, just doing some research now and I don't think I have the right equipment to even use the Jynxbox.

I currently have a DISH Network Satellite 500 w/ DPP Twin Pro Plus LNB, I went ahead with all setup procedures last night and had ESPN HD working for a few minutes and then the whole system would lock up and I had to hard reset from the back to get and image on the screen again and the problem would repeat itself.

Is the reason for the locking up because the satellite and LNB I have not enough for the Jynxbox? If not, can I just keep the satellite I have setup on my balcony and just swap out with a new LNB that is better suited?

Thanks and let me know if additional info is needed.

the jynx dont have enought power for that lnb, you need a power inserter or an old dn sub reciver on the first port of the lnb this will
power the lnb and take the load off the jynx box.

Ok, will I do damage to the Jynxbox if I continue to use it with my current setup? If so, I can go back to using my nano2 in the meantime.

Could you suggest and/or link me to an affordable power inserter that would work with my setup and the Jynxbox Ultra HD? I do not have a dn sub receiver to use.

yes you could damage your jynx, what you need is a power inserter for a DP44 switch, google/ DP44 switch power supply/ you dont
need the DP44 its self just the power inserter, the DPP lnb has the switch built in and an extra port for sat in, the sat in port can be
used with a single lnb and dish for any sat you want, like sat 129.0w for HD.

I just question where this DP44 switch was ever mentioned in chs1982's posts, I see he is using a DPP 500 lnb, and espn HD is not on 129°, so it appears that w/ this twin lnb only, power should be plenty.

Are you saying I don't need a switch / won't burn out the jynxbox? I apologize for only saying ESPN HD, I can try a channel that is for sure a 129 degree, I did do the scan and found channels on 129.

Please let me know what info you need to narrow down the problem of the box locking up / freezing. It happened more than 5 times alone last night before I gave up and went to bed.

As for the dish/lnb what I said earlier is what I have, just one cable running from the dish to the back of the stb. Last thing I need is for me to try messing around with channels and settings on here when I have the setup wrong / not enough power and potentially break the stb.

first let me make this clear, the DP44 switch has 2 parts, first part is the switch, second part is the power supply, with your DPP plus
LNB you only need the power supply.
now with the dish 500 and DPP LNB you can get 2 sats, sat 110.0w and 119.0w, in the jynx sat setup menu sat 119.0w should be
set to port 1 and 110.0w should set to port 2, your LNB freq should be set to 11250.
hope this helps.

ok here is what we need to know, what sats did you have on the nano 2, if you had sat 119.0w and 129.0w your ports in the jynx
sat menu should be, 119.0w port 2 and 129.0w should be port 1.

you can also get 119/129

I cannot get it to read 129 at the top, I was able to get it to say 110 at the top for Port 2 but I had to change 12224 V 20000 to the one to the right... So apparently I'm not hitting all 3 birds with this dish. Just did a scan of 110 once I got it to show at the top and got 489 TV channels.

you're most likely only pointed at 110/119 since you had an sd stb prior
you need a 3rd lnb for 129
