Oh high and mighty iHub. :awe: I have run every file that I have in my arsenal from the iHub, newlink and svlan. I have tried with one light, no lights and both lights but still you mock and make sport of me. I have tried two routers and direct to the pc but to no avail. I now begin to build a shrine to honor and make sacrifice unto you all and mighty iHub. There comes a point and time when one must admit defeat. I now bow to your glory high and mighty iHub. Do not be proud all and mighty iHub for I must now admit you have beaten me.
ALL HAIL AND LONG LIVE ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY iHUB!! :awe:

Send it to me in the mail.....
Have you tried "Hyperterminal" to make a connection with the dongle ?
Alternately, have you tried the "Device terminal program" from the maker ??
All hope is not lost yet if you haven't tried with these programs.
Again, you can send it to me in the mail if you like and I would be happy to give it a shot.
:)

I've tried both spoiler but nothing. The first time this happened was back when the 411 came out. I uploaded the file to the stb and when it rebooted I lost the connection (single yellow light)which caused the lose of the ip config in the menu. After weeks of trying various files off and on I finally got it to reconnect. All though it came back with a bad mac address I found a work around and the iHub worked as it should.
This time was my own fault. Back when the 422 came out some were looking for a way to go back to version 2.2. So I tried to come up with a solution which I did. But before I could test process a few times it lost connection again the same as before. Of course not long after someone else came out with a solution. lol From my read the iHub is not completely dead. I have got both lights to come on by opening up the case various ways but that seems to have no effect. Until it shows the ip config in the menu upon reboot it looks to be hopeless. I have two 360p's and the iHub does the same on both. Only the single yellow light unless I screw around with the chips on the iHub board. But even doing that no ip config in the menu and no info comes up in the wizloader. I've searched with the wizloaded over a hunderd times in a row and still nothing.
As far as I know I have every file that come out for the iHub from 2009 to date. But so far I've not hit on a combination that works. Maybe the first time it was just a fluke and I got lucky. The only other option that I have not tried is with another working iHub. Who knows maybe that is the missing link. lol If I hadn't brought it back from the dead once before I could let it go. Plus the fact I paid $75 for this 1x2 inch piece of silicone. I have other stb's running but this thing has become more of a vendetta for me. lol Let me noodle it over. I just may take you up on your offer.

Yup...
Sounds like you've attacked it pretty well.I have 3 now that I haven't been able to fix out of probably 50 that I've worked on. One just came in not long ago with some issues similar to yours. It's lost all it's firmware. I can force an ip using the "Ip config" menu but like yourself, on reboot all is lost and nothing shows in Wiz.
I can get "some" (minimal) response from the serial port but firmware loads through data port so that really does me no good anyway.
It's still fun to be into some real testing and learning. You and I both remember a day when you could have some real headaches to work out to get your stuff working. This is about as close as I can come to that these days :)
Keep me updated with any progress you might make.
Also... still looking for someone that can help get us over the initial handshake issue. 110 boards are working on a hot swap but the handshake continues to be an issue. If we can get over the hand shake issue, many makers boards can made to work pretty easily and there won't be a lack of dongles again.
Happy testing,

You may have discovered this spoiler but I'll throw it out there just in case. I have found two files one being the factory v117 and the other 0245 that if I slip the iHub in and out a few times the adapter doesn't connect pop's up. All though the ip config still want show in the menu. Not sure if these two files could be the ones to finally make connection but I can't seem to get this popup with any other files from the 263 threw the 422. There may have been one also in svlan files to do this as well but I've ran so many now I would have to go back threw them to check. If I do nail onto something I'll pass it along.
Well back to the shrine. Think I'll sacrifice a balonkie samage today. Not that old cheap chit but oscar mayer and see if that pleases the iHub gods. lol Hmmm wonder if mayo or mustard would make the difference.

Letting of blood is often a good step. Mine are usually the result of tool slipping and of my own blood.
Did you know that it is possible to mod some of the sv boxes code to ignore the ihub security chip test. With that defeated, you don't need an ihub, but can use the wiznet dongle equiv. And that there is a guy working on hub emulation so that it might be possible to use something like a $25 dollar router flashed to openwrt as an "ihub". And that it actually is possible to fake the security chip results--it is just a 3des encrypted set of 16 bytes that the chip decodes and sends back to the box, so all you need is the 3des key and that is known.
