Failed Software upgrade in 9000HD via COM port

Just purchased a used 9000HD and the USB slot doesn't seem to detect the USB stick when I insert it in attempt to upgrade the software.

I then connected via serial cable in attempted to use the Serial COM port for my SW upgrade connected to USB port of my laptop. I went to System Information -> Receiver Upgrade -> Main s/w -> "Press OK" -> for Select Device I selected "COM Port" -> then pressed OK to start transfer

It then tried to transfer to Serial without giving me the option to select folder and file to select for the transfer. It ended with a "Data transfer failed"

Does anyone have any advice on how I can upgrade via serial port for my 9000HD?

You need the loader and file on your computer. You do the upgrade from the computer not the receiver when using the data cable.

did tou try both usb slots ? there is also one on the back you can go into the menu and turn either the front or back on but not both at the same time

Thanks Dual Test. I did what you suggested and use Loader 2 and I was able to load the Main SW and everything works now.

Sideswiper, didn't know about the 2nd USB port at back. Will check it out later. This will be much easier and faster than using serial.
