So today I got a new power supply for a computer in the mail.
I install the power supply but accidentally turned of my router while plugging in the computer.
The router reboots and the TV comes back on for a minute and then goes down.
I come back to find DNS Fail. That's an issue on my end.WTH is going on here now ???
I rebooted all and the box sees the dongle just fine. Still i get Dns fail.I open wiz and see I'm not being seen on the network.
WTH ???
Something must be wrong with my network bridge but what could it be ?? After the accidental shut down and reboot of the router, it worked for a minute and then went down.
Hummmm.......
Well... after years of doing this stuff I knew right away what it was. I unplugged that new power supply and bam.... back up again.
The new power supply puts out so much FI it blocks the bridge whether its on or off.Simply having it plugged in is enough to bring down the network.
This just goes to show how some things can be so misleading at times. The box worked after the reboot of the modem when the computer supply was plugged in. Why would anyone suspect that as being the issue ?? The first time I dealt with an issue like this was similar and I spent hours before realizing all i had to do was unplug one simple thing to bring everything back up again.
Use simple deduction when your working your issues.
I thought to myself, what did I do in the last few minutes to cause this and with that the computer was suspect right away.
Just wanted to relate that little experience to everyone.
Happy testing,
