View Full Version : Whats the best Internet Security Suite out there?
Just wondering what the best Internet Security package available is? I know of a few but wondering what one is the best....and by best I mean which one offers the best online protection overall with the least system drag....I like Norton but it just kills the system...any suggestions?

I am using Kaspersky. It doesn't seem so be a memory hog. Have been using it for two years. I buy the 3 package one. It lets me use it on 3 different computers.
Price seems to be compatible with all the other ones.

If your talking FREE ones No warez needed and DL directly from the home sites
My choices would be Malwarebytes and AVAST.
The first one is .org 2nd one .com
Very good and hardly no resources used, unlike Norton!
My ISP provides F_secure and I liked it, however ANY key generators for Prg's
are instantly removed, not just quarantined, so watch that.

I tried the free AVG and removed is ASAP. Let too many thru, THEN warned me
I was infected after the fact. I hear the paid vers of AVG are much better?
Avast actually warns you if you go to a site and it attempts to do bad things
before the damage is done, LOL it comes up with you want to disconnect from site or remain, this site is attempting to send you.........
I really like it.

The best in 2009
Gold- Symantec (the best 2009)
Silver - Kaspersky
Bronze- ESET
All been tested in 2009
Avast
AVG
AVIRA
BitDefender
eScan
ESET
F-Secure
GDATA
Kaspersky
Kingsoft
McAfee
Microsoft
Norman
Sophos
Symantec
TrustPort
previous years
2008: AVIRA
2007: ESET
2006: ESET
2005: Kaspersky
2004: Kaspersky
P.S Personally I don't trust Kaspersky at all. The guy(Kaspersky), was working for the russian KGB as an officer, and now he owns it. KGB officers never retire

Microsoft Security Essentials runs quietly and efficiently in the background so that you are free to use your Windows-based PC the way you want

I use Ca security pacage which was free from my provider...I didnt like nortons because it suck up to much memory...and I didnt need all the added perks...just need a simple and effective lightweight program..
I use AVG full
It does the trick nice. How ever, as a secondary measure I also use a locked down Virtual PC image to surf for things outside of the norm :innocent:, And then once done delete image and replace with clean backup copy.
Please keep in mind that any software is not 100%
And that Norton is the worst... err I should say Symantec. (IMO) :tehe:

I will have to say Kaspersky is best and does not take up hardly any resources in your PC . Very good protection and use this with an anti-maleware program .
