Looks like a half a season will occur after-all.
Reporter notes.., the calendar, in the end played a factor. both sides wanted to play.

It may take years for the game to fully recover...if it ever does..

my take on it all....lets face it, hockey is a great game. true hockey fans have watched, played and loved the game from as early as one can remember. its very dissappointing to have lost half this season and the previous lockouts that fans have had to endure over the years. but the true fans will watch as it is simply in our blood...hockey is a way of life for many...canadians especially. right from the early minor hockey leagues starting at the timbit level...all the way to the professional level.

the bottom line is, the nhlpa, owners and the nhl have lost the respect from the fans...something that will take a long time if at all, to overcome. many will think twice about purchaseing nhl apparel, as well as shelling out the cash to see games or any other type of involvement towards the financial benefit to nhl in a whole.

the game will go on....but the fans will not forget this. this years stanley cup winner will have an * beside there team name, but it does not represent a team that won a cup in a half season, it represents a league filled with corperate business, money hungry participants and a tarnished game run by the almighty dollar!
