there is no jailbreak for the 3rd generation unit at this time.As for which is better the apple is great for streaming.

2 generation is it like my nano with iks service

You're nano doesn't have variety of movies to choose at a finger snap, you have to scan to different places to see what you want to watch, no guide, but having both you're sitting on top of the world.
