I am trying to add the 129 sat to my Nano Premium. Is it called Ciel-2? What is a good TP to use for dish aiming? I am aiming an old Directv dish and I can't get even a hint of a signal. I know the LNB and diseqc switch are good because I can aim it at 110 and get a good signal. Thanks for your help.

Dishpointer says I should aim at 240 magnetic with a low elevation. I am near Buffalo NY. I picked up 129 a long time ago and I remember aiming the dish very low.

I use TP 12516 but, seeing how 129 is well off the West coast I'd be surprised if you can hit it from NY.

I am going to upgrade from Nanosat Premium to a Jynxbox Ultra HD. If I can't get the HD channels on 129 there isn't much sense in doing that. Is the Ciel-2 the right dish for me to aim at? Maybe I am trying to get the wrong dish. I have 110 & 119 now and want to see if I can receive more HD channels.

In GTA and get 129 no problem on 18" dish!

The good one to get is BeaverTv as all the major channels are in HD plus Pbs Sats 82 and 91

As far as I can remember the Nano Premium is a SD receiver, therefore trying to get 129w is pointless since that sat is all HD, you will not be able to get it on an SD receiver, jmo

you can always get a privarte share that supports east coast arc and hit those birds instead. About due south from your location and yes unless you have some major obstruction 129 should be doable from Buffalo

What is 129 called? I just want to make sure I can get it before I buy the HD receiver. My Nanosat only shows the satellite name and does not show the position (129 degrees). I know the Nanosat is not HD. I am using it now for SD.

Hi telcoguy, the 129w is called ciel2 if you are in the buffalo area you can get that sat on a 18" dish. as Glatt said.

Then Ciel-2 is my target. 251.6 magnetic with only 19.7 elevation.
Thanks for the replies.

Thanks for the pic Glatt. Is that a custom bracket or one that was purchased somewhere?

It is a commercial bracket made in Canada!

Telcoguy locked in 129 Ciel-2 with very good signal strength this morning in the Buffalo NY area. Ready for HD! Thanks for the help.

A quick note to all trying for 129W.

Not everyone will be able to get 129W on an 18" dish, I practically live under 129W,(was up there yesterday cleaning the windshield) and have had to use a separate 30" dish with a DP LNB on it to get a good signal.

So go to the link below and check you location to see what may be needed as far as dish size for 129W. (don't use the Canadian beam, it is not active, use the CONUS beam)

And as Shark1959 mentioned use TP12516 to find this bird, as it is an SD transponder so most receivers will be able to lock onto it.

A quick note to everyone, that has a Nanosat Premium or even the SE, It is not an HD unit, so trying to get an HD sat is a waste of time!
