I'm new to this forum, so your help will be greatly appreciate it. I just want to know if I can still use my old viewsat ultra without using any xfta router, dongle, or weather forecaster. (I just don't want to have my viewsat ultra connected to the internet 24 hrs). In other words, can I still update the fta files using a USB? If so, where can find the fta files? Thanks.

Thanks.no friend the only way its being connected to the internet with the wfemu for windows program or xfta-router,but you can use it for true fta channels like galaxy 19 at 97.w you just need to download the factory file and need a 30 to 39 inch dish and linear lnb,but i would go with a 33 to 39 inch dish for better signal and quality and theres a couple of weak tp,s on sat 97.w there you,ll find 200+ international channels, good luck friend....
