LAS VEGAS -- Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar came in at 144 pounds during Friday's official UFC 156 weigh-in.
Edgar is making his featherweight debut against UFC champion Jose Aldo on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Edgar (15-3-1) will look to claim the 145-pound belt, following a controversial split decision loss to lightweight champion Ben Henderson last September. Aldo (21-1) weighed in at 145 pounds.
"I know he's been a great champion for awhile, but I feel better than ever at (145)," Edgar said.
All fighters set to compete on the UFC 156 card made weight. The card features a light heavyweight co-main event between Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Both fighters came in at the limit of 206 pounds.
A high-profile heavyweight fight between Alistair Overeem and Antonio Silva might produce the next challenge for current champion Cain Velasquez. Overeem (36-11), who sat out all of 2012 after he failed a surprise drug test in Nevada, has been guaranteed a title shot with a win on Saturday.
Wearing a shirt that read, "Haters gonna hate," Overeem weighed in at 264 pounds. Silva (17-4) was virtually the same, at 262 pounds.
The UFC 156 weigh-in proceedings got off to an awkward start, as the first three preliminary fighters each missed weight. Bantamweights Francisco Rivera (137), Edwin Figueroa (137.5) and Dustin Kimura (139.5) were all given extra time to cut to the bantamweight limit of 136 pounds.
