View Full Version : Router Alternative for Nfusion- No PC/NOI needed

With the help of N3FTA doing most of the test. I have written a NOI/PC alternative that runs on a router instead. No PC needed. Our application do not do the Newcand stuff. Instead it use rq_sssp and the application is just a wrapper that translate nfusion udp request to serial Captiveworks SSSP. Just as the viewsat are doing. If you are interested go to

http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?94096-Project-Noi-to-linux&p=920005#post920005 and look for the files at the end of the page.

enjoy your testing

I understand. Be safe.

In fact that is why I gave the source code. So any one that is interested can see what the programs does.

Good work dale.
Can this be implemented into any brand of routers (e.g. netgear) ?
On the other site (where you have been banned & reinstated), somebody posted another type of noi, but i dont know
if can handle more than 1 p$. Is your solution going to work with more than 1 p$ ?

For 2nd question, I found the answer myself from rq_sssp.config file: up to 63 p$.

I am sorry I do not monitor all the liinks. I only check from time to time the original post.

Yes, my program do not do Newcamd. It only translate in nfusion udp into something rq_sssp can understand. Yes rq_sssp cab handle multiple p$. But be aware that the time requires to monitor or switch from P$ makes the system more susceptible to glictches in video.

The program runs in Openwrt. If you have at least 4mib flash and 32mib in ram ( may be less if you d not use LUCI).
To realy know you do google for your "routers model + Openwrt". And if it is compatible look for the openwrt wiki/forum and it will show you how to install.

In fact. Today in another site another guy posted a new application called iks4suns I guess many will show up since there is source code. Be aware that every time you put your private server data in some people programs there is a chanse that some one can still it from you!!. That is why I gave source.

hi dale,
from my understanding the iks4 suns is near the same as noi and nf proxy?
the person only posted on 2 sites i seen.
also i was sad to see abc's complete nfproxy thread deleted from other site...
thanks for all your hard work!

I just do not understand those people. In fact It is giving me a bad taste! I started my project with them. I was even helped by two MODS. And without explanation they claim that my work was SPAM and Banned for life. jijijiji They are a joke. ABC is a great guy. I saw his work. He even game me the checksum algorithm. Not that I needed but he did. I saw the work. Then suddenly out and a new APP. I do not know. Be careful guys. I had said nothing. It is that so many thing happening at once.

I can not log in their site. My IP is suposed to be block!! Who knows? I just do not go where I am not welcome.

Now I am working in a Sonicview solution for the IHUB.

Very interested in what your doing with the Sonicview. They're great receivers but, the ihubs are way overpriced and many go bad.

I see many 601's cheap on Ebay so I'm very intrigued. Is there a how-to for this somewhere?

Have a look HERE (http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?94096-Project-Noi-to-linux/page10). Your looking for post #147.

Maybe a mod could place this link in the first post. It would be pretty tough for someone to find this info at post #147 of a 15 page and growing thread.

Great work my friend, I appreciate all the work you guys do to make life easier for people like myself. Keep doing what you are doing and I hope you will be successful in your work with the Sonicview.

I might have to dig out my brand new\old Neosat lite17916
and give this a shot. The Neosat lite not to be confused with the ipro 1000 has
the same tuner that Nfusion uses and will accept the bins but didn't come equipped
with Ethernet, serial port only. All I need is a hamburger a beer and medical marijuana.

You might need more than just the burger, beer and marijuana. As of now this only works using ethernet not the serial port.

If you go with the d-link dir 601 it's highly unlikely you brick it. I've used a couple different routers now and found this one the easiest to work with, as an added bonus there extremely cheap.

From what I see that router is not compatible with openwrt.

ok one simple way to get it work it
first set wireless lan to main router on gargoyle connection menu
device configuration gateway
internet/wan DHCP wireless
wan ethernet port disable
Local network
router ip 210.51.47.147
Subnetmask 255.255.255.0
save and go to primary router and set x-fta assigned ip to static

After this changes you can continue to the next step
to verify you will be able enter to the router wirless with the ip main router assigned to x-fta router
Otherwise check your router settings and login to the main router

I will prepare a generic image that does not contain my personal data and not break any of the rules of this forum

Thank You. I'm still a bit confused on one part of your instructions, You said go into my main router and and set x-fta assigned ip to static. I can't find a place to assign one computer/connected device a static ip. I have a Belkin N450 Wireless router. Here is the specs on my router,
