I recieved a letter from Merchant services credit card processing, I called this service co. & the said that I owe $600. so I told them that I have no idea about this transaction, Now I knew that this is Identity thief, so my question How to settle this situation, do I have to make a report to the police.

well since they claim you owe them I guess they can supply you with proof of where the card was used and you should also know where you used the card and for what as well. possibly you can track down where the card was exploited that way. now the second issue, if you only used the card for legit purposes I would go to the cops. If you used it for other things, then that would leave cops out of the equation so your one option is to play hardball with the card company and hope for the best. Chances are though they will not back down and you might have to eat the $600. Either way cancel the card immediately if you already haven't done so and report it as stolen to the card company

thanks, BTW I think the apply & register the card under my name, cause when I look at the statement is discover CC which I don't have this type of card. So I called the CC & no card is under my name, but before that, I called the Merchant service first, maybe the cancel it. so anyway tomorrow I will make report to the police, thanks again
