Lost Picture

Doing basic set up, no firmware up date. I connected the hdmi to box and tv, turned on,went to menu to set up display.The box defaulted to 720p(menu visible) but as I have a panny capable of 1080p I picked that resolution from the Jynx menu. The box cycle and then the screen went black but the box stayed on.I've tried a different hdmi, tried composite cables and the rca. With the rca I can see the menu but the picture is in continuous roll. I tried connecting to an older Sony but had the same results. Any ideas on how to get the picture back?

Change your resolution back to 720.

Press the aspect button on your remote--its at the bottom of the remote.

I would change to 720p but I can't see the menu any more when connected to the new tv with hdmi and there is no option to use the rca cable. I only get a glimpse of the menu when I connect to an old portable tv which accepts the rca cable.The menu is there but the picture keeps rolling,so I can't get to where I can see what I have to change.

Press the aspect button then wait for a count of 4. Keep doing this until your picture comes back. If you don't wait for those 4 seconds you may skip the setting. Once you get the picture back you can set the box according to the max resolution of your tv.

No luck with that Anubis. I'll try again on the old portable;maybe I can get the picture to stop rolling long enough to access the menu.

sounds like the unit is stuck in PAL mode

Ok, I got it.I used the rca cables and the small portable.I was able to see enough of the menu through the screen roll.It took a few attempts but I finally landed on the resolution settings.Once I selected 1080_60 the picture was back. Reconnected to the new tv with the hdmi cable;bingo,back in business.Thanks to all for your help.

The coders for the Jynxbox mixed the pal and the ntsp instead of coding the choice for pal and ntsp. The 25 and 50 are pal and the 30 and 60 are for US standards.
