When Chris Jericho made his exciting return at the Royal Rumble this past year, our fears were quickly allayed.
Truth be told, the road to WrestleMania just wouldn't be the same without "Y2J."
Besides being one of the few superstars whom fans are emotionally invested in, Jericho is arguably still the best wrestler in the company.
For instance, his mat classic against CM Punk at WrestleMania 28, which had half the fanfare of Triple H vs. Undertaker and The Rock vs. John Cena, is regarded by many to have been the best bout from that night.
More importantly, Jericho understands his role as a veteran, knowing full well the necessity of giving back to the organization that has given him the ultimate entertainment platform.
Oftentimes, this has meant passing the buck to other performers, especially up-and-coming talent, like Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam 2012.
In fact, Jericho has been so selfless, that in recent years, most haven't been surprised to see him lose most of his higher-profile matches and feuds.
WrestleMania 29, however, offers a more unpredictable glimpse into Jericho's future because he is set to potentially face off against another veteran in Mark Henry, according to the members-only section of F4WOnline.com. The possible match has been "discussed" as recently as last weekend.
Obviously, Henry, being fairly established himself, doesn't necessarily need to be "put over" any more than Jericho.
One can argue that both men need a little momentum, perhaps in the form of a WrestleMania victory, since coming back within weeks of each other.
