Just need to know According to EPG and Picture Quality Which receiver is best among Jynxbox HD, Dreamlink HD and SV8k HD.

Not sure if you could get a sv8k now but that would be my choice. it can provide a nine day epg with some sats and the pic quality is eye candy. i've had this one since it came out. if the other two matched this ones quality and reputation, then you wouldn't go wrong with any of the three. i've tested all my boxes for long times. maybe testers of the dream and jynx can provide you with some info as i cannot.

I have to agree with DU here. My 722 is the best by far. I have owned a SV8k and now a Jynxbox. I ordered the jynx so I could more easily rip some movies (usb). I didn't know that you couldn't do this when I ordered it (that sux!). Between the JB and the SV8K, I would have to go with the SV. Seems it had a better guide, picture quality was about the same, recording feature much better with SV8k, and I could easily rip recorded shows and movies to my pc. I have a limited isp so it is not possible for me to download movies from the net.

With that said the JB is a good box if you are not concerned with guide or recording capabilities (it does record, just buggy).

I forgot to mention the 2 tuner feature...the sv8000 hit the market a few years ago with 2 tuners. i believe the newest model jynxbox now has this feature now.

the epg on the jynxbox is very good once you learn how to populate it

i like everyone's opinion in this thread about which hd is best.

I personally would count the sv8k out of the equation because you would be lucky to find one used with a working ihub for less than $250.00 and why pay that much for a used fta receiver with no warranty.

i would narrow it down to these 2 for a good box at a fair price. if you want a good HD fta with good recording ability go with the dreamlink. if you want a good HD fta that you can play back video media in just about any format including mkv and avi then go with the jynxbox.

i have the sv and jynx i switched them around on two different tvs for ease of switching from sat to sat. (jynx does that great) but as for picture quality the sv was alot better on my visio lcd. i wouldn't trade my sv for another jynx like i did for this one, but hey thats only me.

Are there any linux HD receiver other than a DreamBox?
I would like to stay with an open source box like the DreamBox - but as far as I know the Skywalker-1 is the only adapter that will work in N.A. to get Dishnet HD channels and it is pretty expensive.
