Can someone explain why freezing occurs?

Freezing is usually on the server side, not the receiver side. Having said that, a receiver can cause freezing due to a bad installation of a firmware file.

On the server side, when a server reaches it's max capacity and ppl keep logging on, the server becomes overwhelmed and bottlenecks thus slows down and freezing. Only way to fix that is to either boot ppl off the server which will never happen as that's bad CS or they have to bring more capacity online which means buying another server.
