personally, i know of know other way to do it. not saying there isn't, i know there is but i dont know how to do them. also, its easy and know one knows what your buying. they can suspect but all it says is you sent so much money to so and so. if you dont leave a message in the paypal notes then no one knows what you sent money for. please correct me if im wrong

i remember years ago getting a donation number from nfxx

i didn't pay them directly. i sent money to payment asia, and in return payment asia sent a unique number or key to my email. in return i sent that key to nfxx email and they redeemed my key for credit and i got my donation number. so basically there was a middle man protecting both of us.

i wish there were more payment option like that.

People dont seem to know that you can pay for something on PayPal without having an account. All you do is go to:

x (http://paypal.com/xclick/business=)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "email@forserver"
(where I have "email@forserver" put the services email without quotes)

Then you can pay without making an account. I've done it a few times and even used a Vanilla Visa card (pre-paid) so no paper trail.

the ONLY issue with PP is a reseller gets nabbed, hence Wuff's trail,
and then subpoena PP records will be at play

if PP has alerted the feds for large amounts going in
a peep's acct that they may deem suspiscious activity? that might
happen,,,,but less likely if one drains that acct every other day BUT
especially if NO message is entered in the txn, they have SQUAT
its a donation,,as in YOU donated funds.like many millions citizens
do every single day

PP is making loads of $$$ for use of their service
so to say THEY are feeding DN willy nilly and handing over your acct
is well, you guessed it,,,so any corp who wants your info, EVEN dn/nag,
they have to serve proper docs to PP to release said info.

so really, PP is safe, so long as all players protect each other ;)

Guys pay pal works for the re seller that might not be selling much but i can talk from what i have been thru .. i was doing so much volume that they frozen my money.. now i will get it back but i would say i over looked the response of my server coming online and that as such i never thought of how to collect for so much sales now i have learn and i have a new process being setup and once do in two weeks it will be like shopping at any online store pay with what you want...

note even draining the account everyday still tips them something is up as it looks just as bad that you drain your acts everyday it more of the amount of daily payments you receive unless you have a long history selling stuff and can show them a web site or something where the money is coming from.. paypal is u.s. based and as such lot easier for DN to get court to stand on there side and paypal also would corporate to not have them self caught in some legal haggle... they will jump ship in a heart beat if they feel they are going to face any legal heat..

TIP for all who will be selling.. and still using pay-pal.... OFFSHORE SETUP it not cheap but if you want to offer the best and most protection for you clients.. then you spend the money to do so...

yah,,,for me what counts?? is NO one knows who i am when i send funds
for this type of service, NOT even the reseller should know who or what
your name is,,hence why PP is double edge sword,,,i have never setup PP
with fake info though,,,so ill believe that one day when i decide to go try it

otherwise, ill stick to vanilla or chocolate cards :)

OK... let me post here a little bit I put together when I first did it. Ive used this method more than once and it works! I went into great detail because a few buds wanted the info. Ive written this without live links so I think its OK... if not please edit it or tell me wich parts and I will do so. Here it is:


I recently needed to get a new donation number and was very concerned about leaving a paper-trail. It was fairly easy to do, but it did need several steps.

I started by buying a $50 Vanilla gift card (Visa). I paid cash so no paper-trail there. Now, these cards dont need to have an account created... however, in order to used for on-line purchases you need to attach a zip code to the card (at their web-site). No other info, just the zip. Very quick and easy.

Next to make the PayPal payment without creating a PP account I followed these instructions:

To send money without creating a PayPal account, open up any web browser, and type this address (URL):
hxxp://paypal.com/xclick/business= (change hxxp to http)
Add the email address of the recipient of the money to the end of the URL, like this:
hxxp://paypal.com/xclick/[email protected]

I had to give PP my name, address, email, etc... but of course I gave them phoney info for this. The transaction went through immediatly no problem. So I copied all the transaction info and sent the transaction ID# to the seller including the email address to send my donation info to.

Seeing as I was going through all this for security reasons, I figured I'd go one step further and made up an email account a few days before this using the same personal info I would use on PP. I did all the on-line stuff (create email, add zip code to Visa card, paid PP) at the library so that my IP address never came into play. I even went so far as to take this info with me on a flash drive along with a Portable Apps version of Chrome browser (so I didn't need to use the librarys browser).

After all was said and done I copied the PP transaction info, and the sellers email with my new info to the flash drive also. Now... all the info from begining to end sets on no computer anywhere, just on a flash drive that I have stashed.

Now some of these steps may not have been nececsary (or even over-kill), but I figured that considering the events as of late that better safe than sorry!

I'm passing this info along to you because I thought it would make a good sticky. I see questions all the time about how to pay for private servers without a paper-trail. I'm passing it along because I cant post stickys. I also wouldn't know which section would be best suited for this info.

I hope this info can help the members with this situation...

Guys i think you all are forgetting the main point here you are there thinking that all is ok you are buying form some reseller and it all good... you guys do know that DN has spy's on all the site and they will sign up for services just to find out your payment methods and at that point they work backwards to get you and if you read you banks fine print your account is for personal use and not to be used in any illegal activity. and since the911 act they have many ways to use that for non terrorist activity.... and just for the general public there is know way to hide on the internet.. even with fake email addys.. it all leads back to an IP that leads to ISP thats lead to owner of account.. and in public use intent cfae and other area its common now to have cameras for the reason to track back who use and so on..

am not trying to scare person off just like many have said know the risk....

But never think for one min that you can operate int he USA/Canada and collect money there unless your doing cash in the mail deals.. with out some risk... out side the USA and in some country you can do it and have no fare.. i travel all over the Caribbean ad i see fta sales and out right sign saying buy you ps sever here.. in the window and news papers...

sounded like a great plan but I can see people having issues running chrome off a flash drive or even getting it loaded onto a flash drive LOL but goes to show if you want to remain anonymous you can still do it but even that is not infallible but would probably require more efort than DN would want to put forth. They seem to prefer the slam dunk type of thing.

My method uses no bank (the prepaid card has a bank listed on the back of the card... but not my bank), useing a public wifi or the librarys terminal would lead to a dead end IP (correct me if Im wrong please).

I think my method is safe (as safe as possible) but you never know. There could always be something we havent considered that would screw things up.

At least its a good starting point... and with input from other members it could be fine-tuned. Im always open to suggestions.

they might be gone now but I could show you dealer ads 3 months ago, selling updated boxes and p$ already installed on kijiji and that was in canada. one idiot in kanata got popped and sure there might be more to follow as well. you are correct though you can not totally hide online. Even the best hackers get caught and there is no way to cover your tracks 100%. The problem is every step you take to remain anonymous could also be a weak spot in the chain. Your security is only as good as the steps you go through and if one of them folds under pressure you are done.

but worse than that,,,they include your name (that was included )

but THAT is redflags screaming for attention if server ever got

so really, its up to the resellers a s well to take all necessary steps,,as satcom4 has
to help protect as much as possible their customers,,,its NOT always
a risk at enduser ' end that matters,,,so cudos to satcom4 and lowcost (previous reseller)
to consider their customers high on priority list ;)
