You have to connect you PC to the dial up and setup up network sharing once done and select where to share to you share to your lan port. and from there i plug from my laptop to router so i can run more than one it lot easier.

then from the router you plug receiver..

i would say Google network sharing and list your O/S and if laptop or PC

I.E. " How to share dial up on windows xp to router"

the short version is..
in connections share your dial up connect with lan(may need to gooogle for your os).
hook up cat5 from ethernet on pc to your stb.
early operating systems/pc's requires a cat5 crossover cable instead of a regular cat5.
be aware that if you use pc you may/will have freezing on stb because of the low speed of dial up.
no router is needed.
this information works 100%.

not enough to worry about..a cw every 13 seconds or so.
someone may comment on an exact amount.
the person i know that uses dial up has a speed of 28k on the high side...yeah that's bad/slow but it works for him.

if you were to have two servers connected in a reciever would that be double or only when using a certain server do you use internet usage

it's really simple ...

if you need internet only to browse net, read forums, facebook etc... you are ok with dial up/3g
every few seconds/minute load same page .. rest of the time stay idle
real example.. open cmd and type
ping www.satfix.net -t
you'll notice that every few seconds you'll see "time out"

if you need internet to download movies, connect to vpn ... then 3g/dial up is not way to go ... because something like that would require minimal packet loss and high latency ... constant connection all the time
real example (non 3g/dail up internet) .. open cmd type
ping www.satfix.net -t
no time outs

with iks, packages are so small that you need "internet browsing" connection ... but those time outs that you notice with ping example, will be cause of freezing
in other words, dial up/3g can handle iks requirements, but package loss/low latency cause freezing

dial up as in land line is one thing.
dial up as in 3g usb stick is another.
if you plug 3g stick in your pc usb then the connection sharing would have to be changed to the 3g device with lan.
land line will not stream video's.
3g usb will in most cases and has MUCH FASTER SPEEDS.
when you said dial up...i thought you had a land line????
please verify.

sorry for confusion. i do have land line that im testing dial up internet with. that seems to be working just fine thanks for the info as well. i am also trying to hook up to a 3g stick without any luck. i know the provider blocks some of the sites and you have to hook up through port 80. its a service called speakout from 7/11. its a phone service that offers unlimited browsing. i have the sim in a turbo hub and it works fine for internet but cant seem to hook up my limesat through it. thanks for any help

have to hook up to a certain proxy to access internet but works ok for that. limesat doesnt seem to want to pick up the connection. can you change or set up a limesat to use a certain proxy.

over the phone, or aircard?

probably easiest thing to do is to get a router where you can plug in an air card directly to it ...
after that it's pretty easy

Not sure what the 7/11 thing is (carrier?), but I have used about every type of 3g/4g service out there (VZ, Tmo, Att). Never had issues unless I couldn't get a signal (Sprint). I can tell you for certain with 3g it will run iks no problem. You turn on youtube or some online gaming and you will see freezing though. 4g on the other hand will handle the load just fine.
