What many fans speculated about has finally come to fruition. Triple H will take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29 as a sequel to their epic confrontation at SummerSlam.
And ladies and gentlemen, it's going to be awesome.
One of the main reasons for that awesomeness is Brock Lesnar. Lesnar hasn't been around as much as most fans would like, but he hasn't been needed. While many fans continue to question if he really deserves to be in a big match at WrestleMania 29, he's setting up one of the most interesting feuds going on right now with Triple H and Mr. McMahon.
Lesnar is a perfect fit for the WWE's 29th installment of their "Show of Shows."
Since WWE has decided to run out a more family-friendly product to the WWE Universe, old-school fans haven't had the pleasure of seeing too many hardcore matches, adult themes, blood or even the same level of intensity that they were used to in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras.
There are hardly ever matches that have enough intensity to actually become believable. The last two times we've seen matches like that have both been thanks to Mr. Lesnar himself.
Lesnar's first match since coming back to the WWE against John Cena at Extreme Rules was great. It was unlike anything fans have seen, at least in a very long time. The match was intense and both Superstars really sold the battle, which had even the most veteran WWE fans thinking, "Is this an actual fight?"
The second match of Lesnar's return had a similar feel, but was another great match. Lesnar took on Triple H and they put on a pretty awesome show for the fans last summer.
That's why Lesnar is a perfect fit for Mania. He brings something to the table that the WWE is lacking. The WWE doesn't really have anyone in the ring who's just looking for a fight.
Cena fights for his fans and the underdogs everywhere, The Rock fights for the millions (...and millions) and CM Punk fights for himself. Lesnar just fights. It's rare that his character ever has anything other than a title or hurting his opponent going through his head.
With Lesnar's new MMA-style "butt-kickin'" character, he makes his matches seem like legitimate brawls. Having a match between him and one of the best workers in the business, Triple H, at WrestleMania is going to be a huge part of the show's success.
Sure, the other matches are exciting. We get Rock-Cena II and Punk-Undertaker, but neither of those matches will be a brawl. It'll be a professional wrestling match, much like what we see at every WWE pay-per-view.
Lesnar's match with Triple H will be different. It will be a match that people talk about for years to come. It will serve the same purpose to the card that the last two Triple H-Taker matches served.
It will be on the card as an absolute spectacle. It won't be all about storyline and who needs to win what for their current feud. It'll be about two of the best in history going at it on professional wrestling's grandest stage of them all.
Not only will this match be one of the best on the card, but it will be a great way for Lesnar to prove that he's still got what it takes to run with the best in the WWE after signing an extension earlier this year.
Lesnar isn't just a good fit for WrestleMania 29, he's exactly what the WWE needs to keep rolling as they head into post-WrestleMania season.
