I was trying for several hours to find 129 bird on my dreamlink HD and Dish 500 for this bird only , when I finally got it tried to fine tunning signal reception but all I get is 52% S & Q max.

Scanned all channels ok but no able to watch any HD channel at all. Using also tp 12516 as instructed.

Do I need a bigger dish to improve reception ????
Could be a bad 8psk module????
What else could be wrong ???

Living in Montreal, Canada.

Please help.

Can only make suggestions that may or may not help. My elevation is 19 and I get great reception, but then again I have a 30 in dish.
You mentioned that you signal is 52%. Signal is a connection between the receiver and ln b and seems a little low. Quality is reception between satellite and ln b.
Don't believe it is the module as it is working.
You could have one more go at it as a new day always gives yu a better perspective of the situation. Start by checking signal(rg6 coax), then make sure the dish pole is plum and give it another go..good luck and let us know

If you happen to have a bell receiver it has a great meter, use transponder 21. Just a thought!

Montreal is right on an ERP dividing line in the foot print, in the city a 21 inch is recommended, outside to the East of the big city say at McMasterville a 31 inch is recommended, so you may need a bigger dish for a good "Q" on 129W.

You can look for your self at the link below, use the CONUS beam as the Canadian one is not active, you may have to register for the estimates to show up, then just zoom into your location and click on it..

A pie plate wont work in montreal for 129.. MAy as well get a 31 to 36 incher specialy with the high probability of rain and snow causing a fade in the signal.:D

Why does a 18" fixed get 129 in GTA17864

GTA is much closer to the west coast and further south than Montreal and is in the footprint of 129..

Look at the link I posted, it will tell you why.

Recommended dish size for the GTA to pick up 129W is 18"

Once your going to get a 22 may as well go bigger there isnt a big difference in price if you pick one up locally..

you right a dish 500 is 20. My S and Q in 129W is now 65% both but I still not able to get any channel on 129W.

110 and 119 work great and I can see all channels.

Do you know any channels on 129W that usually always works independly of ECM ???

Thank you.

S and Q are now 65% both in 129W, it should be enough to get any channel.

110W and 119W are working fine and I can see all channels.

Do you have any idea of what I'm missing ??????
What's the best channel on 129 W to diagnose reception and that usually works independly of ECM's

Thanks

There are none.

No open channels on 129W like the Dish 101 channel on 119.

But for pointing use TP 12516 as its an SD transponder and is CONUS.
