WrestleMania 29 is shaping up to be a great pay-per-view, but there is a certain element of predictability to WWE’s marquee show in 2013.
Despite having over three weeks before the actual show, it has become abundantly clear which WWE Superstars will be guaranteed a victory at the WWE’s biggest show of the year.
All of the following stars will thrive on the WrestleMania stage, and should end the night as the winners in their respective bouts whether the WWE Universe likes it or not.
John Cena
The WWE has been planning the main event of WrestleMania 29 for years. As hard as it is to fathom the company booking years in advance, the storyline between The Rock and John Cena has been in the works since 2011 (WrestleMania 27), and now is Cena’s time to shine.
After losing at WrestleMania 28, the inclusion of the WWE Championship this year has raised the stakes, and there is no way Cena will lose again. This will be the official passing of the torch from The Rock to Cena.
Cena has been set up to look as weak as the WWE could comprehend over the last year—still won plenty of matches, but failed to cash in the Money in the Bank and lost to CM Punk on several occasions—and the face of the WWE is looking for redemption against The Rock.
As much as many fans in the WWE Universe will hate it, not only will Cena walk out of WrestleMania 29 as the victor, but he will be the new WWE champion.
The Undertaker
WrestleMania has become synonymous with The Undertaker, and as red-hot as Punk and his character are right now, the WWE will not allow the company’s top draw at their marquee show to lose.
Maybe The Undertaker will lose in 2014 at WrestleMania 30 to end his career, but he will not lose his streak this year. While a victory would launch Punk into superstardom, the WWE doesn’t need that scenario to play out right now.
Punk’s interruption of the late Paul Bearer’s ceremony on Monday night Raw (as seen in the video above) and the close of the show have caused quite the buzz around this WrestleMania match. The WWE will do everything in its power to make the fans believe Punk can win, but it won’t happen.
Put your money on The Undertaker moving to 21-0.
Triple H
Of all the stars guaranteed to win at this year’s WrestleMania, the star that needs the win the least is Triple H. Instead of the WWE legend putting himself over on this PPV, Brock Lesnar should be the one that walks away victorious.
Triple H lost the first bout between these two men at SummerSlam 2012, but it is the fact that Lesnar broke his arm two times during their brief feud that really drives home the point that Triple H will win this match.
According to recent reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc.), I’m not the only on that believes Triple H will win at WrestleMania.
Lesnar would likely go over in a third possible battle between these in-ring legends, but when it comes to WrestleMania 29, Paul Heyman and Lesnar are stacking the odds against Triple H just so the former champion can look like the an even bigger hero when he comes out victorious.
