Bloody Elbow has results from HBO boxing Bradley vs. Provodnikov as Timothy Bradley faced Ruslan Provodnikov in Bradley's first fight since the controversial 2012 Manny Pacquiao win.

Timothy Bradley defeats Ruslan Provodnikov by unanimous decision (114-113, 114-113, 115-112)
Timothy Bradley came into the ring against Ruslan Provodnikov with something to prove, looking to get past the bad taste of the Manny Pacquiao controversy. And he did indeed prove himself, winning an absolutely incredible 12 round war. The two men engaged in a fight for the ages, with a number of dramatic moments where both corners considered stopping the fight.
The big story of the fight was Provodnikov's power vs. Bradley's technique. For more than half of the fight, Bradley was in control, using his high volume punching to outwork and outbox Provodnikov. But when the Russian did get his hands on Bradley, he made it count. On multiple occasions it looked like he had the fight won, but Bradley gutted through it, showing the heart of a champion. Round 12 was particularly dramatic, as Provodnikov scored a knockdown in the dying seconds of the fight, but it wasn't enough for the win.
As seems to always be the case with boxing, there was some controversy here. In round 1, Bradley went down in an exchange, got back up, and went down again, yet it was not ruled an official knockdown. Had that been a knockdown, it would have led to a 10-8 round, making the official decision a majority draw. Perhaps that opens the door for Bradley vs. Provodnikov II down the road? If so, I certainly won't complain.
Despite those troubles, this is clearly a fight where everyone wins. Bradley wins new fans and takes a massive step past Pacquiao. Provodnikov makes an immediate name for himself in front of a new audience. Fans win for getting to watch this fight.
If you missed this fight, make sure you catch a replay - it's a must watch.

What a war. Provodnikov is no slouch. These guys went toe to toe and Provodnikov almost had Bradley on his ass a few times. The little guy is made of steel. Bradley showed tremendous heart tonight.

I'm with you hutch on what you said earlier about that first knockdown. It was pretty evident that he got stunned there. I won't go as far as saying that Bradley stood out and shined like he should have but none the less he got a slight upper hand on the russian. With that being said it really was one of the more entertaining fights I have seen for awhile. I was really pulling for Bradley to come out and prove that he is champ calibre but that just didn't happen. Was sad to see so many empty seats as well.

Yeah,,, not many people there. Bradley is a local fighter and still cannot draw the fans.
I have to be honest,,, Los ANgeles has a huge latino base. They are big fight fans and do
support the latino fighters.
Many Blacks in LA,,, but they are not really into boxing. More basketball. Not even baseball.
Hence you don't see many Blacks at fights or other sports besides basketball.
Sad,, they use to be big fight fans. Wish they would come out and support the Black fighters.

Quick update on the fight...
Emailed the newspaper boxing writer... he said he thought there were probably more Russian fans
than Black Bradley fans there last night... (sad)
He also said, when Bradley went down and it was not called a knockdown, the writer was
about 3 rows back of where Bradley fell the second time... Said Bradley's eye balls were rolled up
in his head...
Said he thought Bradley fought on instinct and conditioning the entire fight.
He will write a piece on the fight next week. Timothy one brave man!
I will pass it on when he writes his column.

The layoff kind of affected Bradly's performance. Active boxers stay in shape all the time. The Siberian boxer has a punch and was well trained. Bradley was lucky this time now what's next for him. Lucas, Khan or Garcia. Or maybe Pacquiao gets into the grove after seeing his chata's performance against the man that dethrone him.

agreed soulman... even their respective coaches both said they were considering throwing in the towel during the fight... now thats a slugfest... & Bradley threw 1000 punches... probably why he won the fight... check out this article

Really a good fight but a terrible ref, should of been a draw in my opinion. The first knock down then Bradley being held up by the ropes the other times those oversites have rematch written all over them. Give Bradley credit after getting hurt a couple rounds he threw 100 punches. As smart as Bob Arum is I see Bradley Pacman 2 on the horizon since Bradley don't pose a knockout threat to Manny but who knows.

I cant believe that the neither of the judges didn't see the damage done in the first round & give the Russian a 10-8 round... if they did then Bradley would still have won instead of the majority draw decision suggested by the article That I posted earlier...

That Russian has power!!... Or Bradley has a weak chin..lol.. Any other time the fight would have been stopped in the 1st or 2nd round as Bradley was out on his feet... He even admitted that most likely he had a concussion.. But what guts to stay up and actually winning the fight... He did win and I will just say he escaped from that one.... As I have said before he is no match for the Top notch fighters in that division.. They gave him a gift as again we cant fault him for that.. Blame the judges....

I think he walked away with this one but he paid the prize. He displayed a hole lot of cojones to stay up by punching back, that's what the ref saw, giving him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe as I said before, his long absence from the ring had something to do with all this. Certainly the Siberian hits harder than Pac or Bradley was better prepared for that fight, cause he didn't go through this in that event. Time will tell if he can stand the competition, I personally say that Garcia or Matthysse will take him or any other in this division including Pac and JMM.
