emachine xp tried to change ip to ontario from quebec

i got an used computer it had quebec ip i live in ontario so i was tried to put ontario ip in it i followed the instructions and i dont have ont.or pq now in the run window i dont have ok prompt, thats because i havent finished what i started , is there a easy way to finist puting my ont.ip and finist the job > and what ip would i put in for st cathatines area ? thank you

the IP address assigned to you comes from the internet provider (i believe it's Cogeco in St. Kitts), you can't just give yourself an address and expect it to work

im with distributel in ottawa

well quite possible their server is across the bridge in hull or gatineau and then you would have quebec IP...
