I just moved into a new apartment and am trying to setup my dish. I aligned it to 110.0W using an old Viewsat Xtreme because i find it very easy for dishpointing and got about 80% quality. When i switched the wire from my old Viewsat to my new Dreamlink HD it is no longer showing a connection and only reads about 20 S and 20 Q. What kind of issues could cause the Dreamlink to not receive the signal?

Probably you need to change your setting LNB type , port Disq /..post your setting here

i tried realigning it to 119 but still have the same issue. No switches, just direct line.

Satellite 119.0W Echostar 14
LNB Power On
LNB Type Single
LNB Frequency 11250
LNB 22KHz Off
DiSEqC SW 1.0 Off
DiSEqC SW 1.1 Off
Legacy SW Off

Signal and Quality both 20%

Generally what I've seen on my neighbors is a 90/90% indicating a non-seating SK200 card. Maybe 20/20% represent the same. Re-seat card and try again.

If available try a new HD SK 200 as it may be faulty.

Before you check the board , what type of LNB are u using ?.. Legacy / Dishpro ? your setting are NOT correct that is why you are getting NO quality

What transponder are you using to find 119W?

On most receivers the default transponder is 12224, this transponder on 119 is a spot beam and you may not be inside it, use TP 12457R it has the Dish 101 channel on it and is in the open, this is the better of the CONUS beams for finding this satellite.

Also what type/brand/manufacture LNB are you using?

my dreamlink does the same thing man. signal and quality are always red no matter what.

just scan for your channels if you have the dish it will find the channels and scan through the frequencies.

I have seen 20% / 20% with a module, that was not seated properly as well. Sometimes, it looks like it's seated properly, and even "clicks" into place, but these modules are so cheaply made, that the little "contacts" are not actually making contact, even though the module is seated.

When you seat the module you have to try and seat it, by aligning the metal contacts, and not rely on the "fit" of the module itself, I have found. And be careful, as the plastic contact guides are cheap, and can break.

It could be a bad module...but I would guess it's likely more of a badly-seated module.

I actually had to remove a spacer on the 4 pin alignment standup as it would not allow my neighbors SK module to fit flush. I could rock the module back and forth a very little bit but that is all it took as all is fine now.
