malwarebytes works good for me. Haven't had a problem yet. I paid for mine and have no regrets for 2 years now.

i prefer to remove infections manually. use autoruns in the Sysinternals Suite.

I find that malewarebytes is a real systems hog when left turned on . I use it when the need arises than park it.
