I just received my new JynxBox HD V3 from the factory.
The motherboard says Ver 2. It did come with a USB WiFi "dongle."
I tried it, plugging into the read USB port. There seems to be no WiFi support in 237 bin.
So, I connected hard wired to my LAN. Set IP and DNS servers. I can ping the Jynxbox.
Then, positioned my motor controller to three sats, scanning in channels. That went smooth.
Entered my NFPS information, but it cannot connect to server - Failed.
I've tried rebooting, etc., nothing I've done seems to be doing the magic.
Tuned to ch 101. Hum. Picture and sound are pixelated...like a weak signal, but I'm getting 85%.
So close. But no cigar.
Anyone have some insight into any of the above issues?

The answer is that you have something very simple wrong in the server data. Look at it very carefully. One time I had a coma instead of a dot. That took hours for me to find and drove me nuts. Another time I had a letter L small case instead of a number one. I used the server app to make a server file and that worked better because I had a real keyboard to type on and not the lame remote key entry. Push couple times. That was how I got the coma instead of the dot... press the 1 key twice instead of once.
You are close. Just a little more patience.
OH YEAH! You may have to reboot to get it to go. I forgot.

There is no need to set an ip or DNS servers. The box will set them for you based on your network. If you can see your ip in the information then you only need to go into your P$ setting and enter your info. Make sure you turn the server on before trying to connect.
As mentioned, make sure you have input your info correctly and you don't have a space at the beginning of your input line.

Ah, all is good now. The devil is in the details and in being patient and turning over all the rocks. In my case the Connection Failed was because it did....My donation expired this week, just a few days before the new Jynx (not Lynx) box arrived. I got a new donation at noon and by two they had a new account set up for me. P.S. I did try to use KeyMaker but the file extension was not recognized by my JynxBox and so did not read in. No problems using remote control for entry - it just takes getting the hang of it.
So far this new box looks pretty good. Next to try the PVR, and then start making suggestions for software/User Interface improvements. Thanks folks.

in the system info menu, what version does it say your hardware is, V2, or V3...
I am wondering if V2 and V3 are the same unit, jsut the v3 has a usb wifi dongle thrown in the box.

Yea.......if you want wifi you will need to load the 239 file......there you will see a wifi manager in your menu after you update it. after loading the file do a factory reset....power down the box, plug in the wifi usb and turn it back on. Don't forget to disconnect the hard line when you power down. Go to settings, find the wifi manger, scan, enter your wifi pass and connect.

I had posted that very information a cpl of times already that a V3 is just a V2 with a WIFI dongle, not sure if any changes to firmware but hardware remains the same
