Hi my box was working great shut it off overnight turned on nothing. I am getting 99 signal and quality bounces from 0 to 60 on average. I checked all connections, ran cable straight from dish to box, cleaned all connections, reset to factory and still nothing. Any suggestions.

Reload the factory bin and start over with a fresh box.

Normally if signal is good, which is connection from receiver to lnb, and quality is not, which is alignment to satellite, then you would check dish alignment. Start there and good luck

Do you have any other lnb's to try out? That's the first thing I would try.

no other LNB and nothing changed on dish, like I said you see the quality spiking from zero to almost 70 for a second. I did a fresh reload twice.

Your signal of 99 would suggest that your run to the dish is most likely working very well.
If all switches have been bypassed and your connections already checked, I would lean towards a weak lnb.

First off what satellites are you looking at?

BEV (82/91)

Dish (110/119 or 61.5) or what?

And what type of LNBs do you have and what do you have selected in the LNB settings?

Yes all switches bypassed, if the cable was bad would I still get 99 signal and its rock solid. Like I said after my last go around which all the trouble was me mostly the box works great always have every one of these I have owned. Is there a way to test the lnb and thanks I appreciate the help.

The only way to test the LNB is by replacing it with a known working one.

What type of LNB do you have?

OK it's a switching issue, you dont have the Diseqc set to on or Diseqc 1.0 or 1.1), that LNB has an internal switch.

Turn the 22 Khz to off, then set the diseqc to on, diseqc port # 1 = 119, port # 2 = 110 and port # 3 = 129.

For 119 use TP 12459, this has the Dish 101 channel on it and is in the open.

Also you dont need any external switches for that LNB.

22Khz was off but did as you asked still the same and I do not have transponder 12459

Sorry typo at my end, use TP 12457 to find 119, with the diseqc set to port # 1.

I posted a picture a few back and tried all the settings suggested I even redid the dish and still 99 signal and the quality spikes from zero to roughly 60 or better. the settings are what I used for many years so I am left with either a bad cable or my box. I didn't think a cable could do this but I really am a novice. I appreciate all the help.

your best bet is try replacing the rg6 cable that comes from the dish to the receiver it might have a short some place on the cable, good luck friend....

Ok sorry to delay update but work gets in way, I replaced the cable and still same issue. Now correct me here but I thought signal strength was part of locating the sat then quality would kick in as you fine tuned it. I even tried with one of the hand held signal meters to be sure but never used one so maybe I am messed up. really do appreciate all the help if I cannot get anything I haven't tried I might be looking for new box.

The 4k is an old and outdated box.
Look to that famous auction site for another 360 for $50.
