I am totally new to FTA, and just bought a 18X24 dish with a pre-spaced triple LNB holder(for 101 110 119).

I also have one of the following twin LNB installed in the central slot

http://worldwidesatellites.com/circular-dual-ku-band-lnb-for-both-119-1188w-p-250.html

I have properly set up elevation, azimuth, and LNB skew for 82.0°W Nimiq 4.
Receiver (Seesat 6000 USB) satellite(82W) setting shows as follows.

LNB Freq 11250
LNB power 13V/18V
Transponder 12224/V/20000
22kHz off
0/12V off
DisEqc1.0 Non
DisEqc1.1 Non
Motor Disable

However, I've tried blind scan, moving dish around, and everything I could think of, no matter what I did, the signal strength is 0 at all time.

I also tried some other birds with no luck at all

what could possibly go wrong?

Set what I have highlighted to 10750, that LNB uses a 10750 LO frequency. (LNB frequency)

Did you change lnb freq to what Terryl indicated? You are aware that 82 contains mainly hd channels , allof which are scrambled. Only way to watch them is with a hd capable receiver that can be connected to an iks server ?

i was not aware of the HD capability , but how come the signal level is always 0 ,even when i was aiming at some birds with sd channels.

If the signal level is at 0, I would check the connection between receiver and switch/lnb. Even if you're not aimed at a satellite you should be showing some signal if you have a lnb hooked up, quality shows the signal level from the satellite.

Thanks Terryl , I'll change the Lnb freq and give it a try later today.
however, you really believe that the wrong freq will lead to 0 signal level? I just wanna make sure it is not a defective Lnb.

By signal you mean S or Q ? Have you ever setup a dish previously ?

by signal I mean S, I am a total newbie

S (signal) is the physical connection between the receiver and lnb. Q (quality - often confused with S) is the connection between the lnb and satellite.
In order to have Q you must have S . What is your S ? Q ? - in antenna settings when 82 is selected (with the correct lnb freq setting)?

Signal strength is 0 at all time, and quality strength is 70%
I previously set lnb freq to 11250 , and as Terryl pointed out it should be my Lnb's LO frequency which is 10750.

I was just wondering if the wrong freq setting will cause 0 signal strength

The other way around - right ?

Obviously you are not pointing at a satellite. Any specific reason why you are trying to get 82?
