I have seen an openbox, the 75 buck price sure is attractive,

so I am looking for some feedback
what the difference between the s9 s1o and s11?? my usial source for rec, has them all for the same price??
are they ready out of the box for hd r do they need an add on 8psk or something??
do they work well wih the likes of nfps, yearly or tv101??
hd and sd picture quality??
program guide??
ease of setup and support??
pvr feature??

I assume it cant stream from computer??

thanks for any and all help

All openbox receivers come out of the box ready for true fta hd channels. These receivers are not compatible with turbo 8psk which is required of dn and bev hd channels- only sd.

s9 was 2010 vintage with scart connectors, only a factor if you are in europe.
s10 came out in 2011 and can use s9 firmware after march 2011,no scart connectors.
s11 came out same year, basically an s10 with scart connectors.
No firmware support since early 2012.

They work great for both HD and SD with IKS on Sky Mexico @ 58W and ClaroTV @ 125W and 50W. No good at all for Dish or Bev.

It is still good for dn & b*v on sd only. no epg for dn & some for b*v.
Very powerful blind scan feature.

No EPG means no good for watching a service.
