Been searching the setups, and am confused.
If I am wanting to pull in 4 dishes (2 physical dishes, pointed to 4 diff birds) Each is a standard Dish500 with dual legacy lnb's (basically what you get if you had a Bev sub). I want to distribute the signal to 3 receivers.
So...I basically have 8 coax leaving the lnb's, and want to bring them to 3 receivers.

Several ways of going about it . Start by looking at the first image of the first post in this thread , While you're there take a gander at the other ones - interesting stuff

Another way is to replace the old style legacy LNB's with new DP dual (single satellite) LNB's, then you can use a DPP44 switch, this gives you 1 coax from each LNB with the option of going up to 16 receivers (3 DPP44 switches cascaded) it takes a lot of coax out of the system, less stuff to go wrong.
And yet another way is to get a EMP 9x4 switch, (8 satellite Legacy inputs plus 1 TV antenna input, that is not needed) this would be 4 satellites to 4 receivers.

I would highly recommend using the Dishpro equipment, it is of much higher quality than any of the FTA gear you'll find, and far easier to set up. As Terry already pointed out, you'll be able to cut the amount of coax between the dishes and switch in half, and you'll be able to get away with a single switch.
From what I've read (a couple years ago when I looked into these), some receivers don't play nice with the 9x8 switches. This may have been fixed at some point in time though.

It's all in the size of your pocket book, here is an 8 quad LNB's input to 12 output switch.

Would these work the same as the WSD2041?

Is powered absolutely necessary?

Depends on several factors ; stbs , lnbs and cable length to name a few.

They will be Jynxbox Ultra HD V2
lnb's are dual legacy
cable length is not too far. max run is maybe 25 ft from switch to receiver. Would do 3 of these.
