I have a friend who just got one of them letters saying pay $3500 to settle any advice what he should do?pay it or what?what did the other ppl do when they got the letter?

what i was telling him its not legal to buy some #### so how can they prove it you have it in a fta box??

Best advise for him is to go see a Professional legal counsel and get advice, preferably someone experienced in dmca matters,Spend the couple hundred it takes to get proper advice now then to regret it later.

Unless you are a lawyer and have defended against such a case I really don't think you should be giving out advice in such.
As mentioned they should seek some sort of legal advice from a reputable lawyer in civil law.
