Sending private messages

I was trying to send Pm to a couple people but noticed it whet to shout page.
If anyone can explain to me how to really do it I would be grateful. I thought I knew how

You've to join at lease 10 posts to get your private mail

Only you and the recipient see that message in the shoutbox

So I did it correct then?I just wait for them to contact me then correct?Thanks for the help

it just shows to you the pm's .. no one ells so if you are in the main forum area u can see someone has pm.... you can change the options in your settings

Well it sure looks like my PM and the Reply showed up there as well. And I did not POST them there

no one said they did not show up there. I said only you and the recipient can see it
