WOW, just ordered a jynxbox Ultra V3 an hour ago. Looks like I'm gonna have to be very careful setting this up. After reading about all the little things that could kill one I sure don't want to kill it upon setup. Will probably have many questions on setup when it arrives but I believe I can get all the help I need right here. Will keep everyone informed on my progress. All I've ever used is a v.sat ultra so I know this will be a new world for me. Sorry for the rambling but I'm pretty excited to enter the world of HD!:Idontgetit:

Just recieved jbox v3. Have 3 files on usb stick:pc upgrade tool, Factory verson 8, v239 dual Which (if any) of these should I use? If it matters I'll be using d pro plus with pro plus 44 switch and power inserter on a 1000.2 . Told ya I'd have a lot of questions. Thanks.

After you get it going, check in the SYSTEM menu, you will be supriced, you got a version 2 not ver.3 jynx put a fast one on all of us, check
the front of your receiver it has a sticker on it saying ver. 3 but in fact its ver.2 think they put this to get rid of all ver. 2, sorry to ruin your day, but i had to let you know.

It's called a V3 because it comes with wifi adapter. The V2 doesn't. Same box just a hardware add on.

Neither of the two, I recommend using fta lnbs for fta receivers.

I guess I'm not sure what your saying homer. The pro plus are fta lnb's aren't they? Or can't they be used for fta like the old legacy ones like I'm using now?

Provider lnbs draw too much power period... Ive read of people having issues with those too on some boxes...
FTA lnbs are the generic dss duals like this one.

The older legacy's aren't as bad, but don't forget about the other lnb your powering too...
Some may disagree but I'm just trying to set you on the right track... Nothing is better than an elliptic dish with a multi-bracket using dss duals... Ive seen too many problems with provider lnbs to recommend them to anyone.. Sure they are already mounted and pointed but if you truely want to have a good set up you should use the right tools for the job or at least work towards it.

Thanks a lot homer. I did some research last light on lnb's and elliptic dishes and I see your point. So for now I think I will stick with the Jbox and the 110/119 that I have now. And then work on getting better "tools".

provider lnbs do draw too much power. it depends on the receiver though as far as how it affects. I've used provider lnb's forever and the only receiver that seemed to get power drained by the lnb's was the sv 8000. All my others never had a problem.
