with the Khub, can't remember if I require a gender changer or rs232 null modem adapter. also I want to reset the password digits back to default (0000) how do I do this? I loaded file the latest files but did not do a factory file first, and it did not default to (0000), do I need to load factory file first perhaps?

On the gender cable I guess it would be user's choice. You could connect the khub direct to the stb but there is more of a chance it will slip out. I bought one a while back and it seems to keep the hubs pretty secure. If memory serves me right the PS_104 was the only PS file setup with password 0415 as default. You may could go in and change it to 0000 but I never tried it. Always just used the 0415. I think the PS001, PS101, PS107 and PS108 were setup with 0000 as the default passwords.

is the rs232 cable null or straight cant remember? I think I had a straight cable with null adapter on it but cant recall. I remember the old kbox came with a black rs232 and a grey.

Do you have a modem???Try that...Rs232 has nothing to do with this by the sound of it...
