i just found out the ip is a temp ip and it is located in the usa so i am not giving it out no more and waiting for the real permanet ip which should be based out of the usa. i will make a post once i have the new offshore ip.

I think I read that someone also sent a DDOS attack on the server - but I am not sure???

If that is the case - I think some of the best services to provide DDOS protection make you route the traffic through their servers and maybe most of them are located in the USA? These DDOS servers maintain a blacklist of IP addresses - if your IP isn't on the list then they would pass the connection on to the true IKS server that could be located anywhere.

I've been reading about some guys using tunneling also - I am no network expert - but I wonder if that could make it look like a USA location.

If satcomm staff is right that the actual IKS server is in the USA - then I guess you just hang tight until they get their European servers back up.
I know some of these servers in Europe don't provide 24/7 service like most of the USA guys - so they may have been out of contact during the weekend.
I think you also have to wait 4 or 5 days to restore your servers if you went through a DDOS attack - they null route your server to make sure the threat is cleared.

This is just some guessing on my part - I don't have a clue what is really going on - but this is just some food for thought :-)

Just wanted to tell the above people that it's not worth it to spend their time with tv101 (don't mean to bash tv101 but the problem it's obvious)since sat has been trying everything to be there for all the members but sometimes things can't be fixed so I thought maybe it's time to look for a different sub specially with all the Holiday promotions for the ps going on around and ultimately $XXX or $XXXX is not a big amount to spend for a full year compared to a sub and my though is if you get in touch with sat and who knows he might be able to offer you a discounted price for a different ps since as we all can see that he has been here since day number one answering all the questions and providing his great support for all the members of satfix don't you agree with me.

Not the first time a P$ came around, promised to be different than the rest, had shakey service, had a leak and then stopped working. Wasn't the first won't be the last. Waiit around if you want, but these guys weren't hard to find when they were offering sales of all sorts. I am sure there is a reason why the are hard to reach now.

Having said that. It's part of the "hobby". If you got half a month of service out of it then you got your "donation" worth. Move on and try and find the reputable/tried and true ones.

Sadly i"m still down. Thanks to the staff for the IP addresses. However after installing each IP
and letting set one hour on each one. I still have no receiption. Its like my user name or password are not working.

verify with satcom staff that youre info is corect and not expired cause the server is working just fine

I dont think there are any resellers around anyway that I have seen, so a good point why fix it.

All other servers r up, as seen by posts on this site.....

Could be that they are gone forever, with all that logings bought for one year ....

Lesson....., do not buy more than one month...... in this business u can not believe anybody, some take pessoss and run, some stays for a lit bit longer in order to pull more pessos from clients,.......there is no such advice to give u 100% asurance to what is best, and reading wont help that much.....

Some of them are so expensive, that it is much better to buy sub, at least with that u don't have much risk, u may cancel any time, and have no headache with freezing, setups and all that sensless knowledge about fta and IKS

I am up on exactly 1 channel. Velocity on 9421 is giving me a beautiful HD signal but all dark on every other channel.

I and others warned everyone long ago about this server......mutliple different times but several did not want to listen. So.....enjoy your backup server...if you have one because 101 is done like an over cooked porkchop.

I believe that is whats happining here.
I will say for about 8 months, I had fairly good service with TV101

If it comes back, it comes back.

I did pay almost half of what the most popular P$ is charging now, so I'm happy.
