Three To See: UFC 160

#3 Glover Teixeira
Glover is on an 18 fight win streak and coming off a win from one of MMA’s most notable fighters, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. Glover is a former wrestler for the Brazilian national wrestling team, has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, his combat experience also includes a variety of grappling and MMA tournaments, he has a vicious ground game and excellent boxing skills which helps make this a very exciting fight against James Te-Huna. Did I mention he won his last 18 fights?
#2 Junior Dos Santos
Junior is ranked the number two heavyweight in the world. He’s known for his excelent boxing skills and scary knockout power. He’s the only fighter holding a victory over current UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. It’s important to remember JDS has knocked out the best fighters on the planet like Frank Mir, Shane Carwin, Gabriel Gonzaga and Cain Velasquez. Junior will work hard to get a win over Mark Hunt and makes sure he gets a shot at redemption with the man who took his belt the first time. Watch to see if we get our heavy weight trilogy.
#1 Cain Velasquez
Cain has won eleven out of his last twelve fights. He’s a current two time champion in The UFC and ranked the number one heavyweight in the world. His only loss comes from former UFC Champion Junior Dos Santos.
Cain has devastating knock out power and it’s been said he has the best endurance in the division which allows him to continue to fight aggressively after his opponents have become exhausted. A win over Silva means he will have successfully defended his title at least once, a feat he was unable accomplish the last time he held the belt thanks to Junior Dos Santos.
Brady’s Main Fight Pick
I give the fight to Cain Velasquez. Although Silva looked great in his last match knocking out Alistar Overeem, I expect a repeat of the last time these guys met in the octagon. I don’t believe the fight will end as quickly because of Silva’s evolution in the sport but with that said Silva does not have what it takes to keep up with Cain’s amazing endurance. If Silva makes it out of the first round I expect to see Cain picking up the pace half way through the second round and giving us a KO for the win.
