Hi, I'm from Puerto Rico and today I got my new Dreamlink HD v4 receiver but haven't been able to set anything because I cannot find the satellites on the list. I'm supposed to be looking for 110/111 and 119, which are the two dishes I have, but they are not on the list of the ones I can choose. I just took it out of the box and plugged it and tried if I can get something. I'm new on this stuff, is there something I was supposed to do before trying to get the channels. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!

In the stickies above your posts is the set up. Go to http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?119081-Dreamlink-HD-how-to-For-Set-Up
You will also need a PS ( private server ) and U can see the available servers go to http://www.satfix.net/forumdisplay.php?1289-IKS-Server-Discussions
Once you have read and did the setup let us know what other questions you may have.

OK, I did what you told me and what the post you referred me to told me to do. I'm stuck in the servers part, which one should I use? If I'm from Puerto Rico, does that make any effect on this matter? Thanks again.
Well try connecting to channel 101 which is a free channel. If that works that would prove that your dishes are ok and that you have scanned for channels and that the settings are ok. However to be able to see the scrambled channels you will need to enter a private servers settings which U need to get from a private server provider like Zoogor or Ruthie etc etc. go to the server page and read as to who is offering server connections and purchase an account.

What server do you currently have a subscription too? You need to have access to a server which means paying $$$ before you can watch TV.

I know that what I have to do on that case about the $$$ but I was wondering which server is recommended based on the sats I'm going to use and my location or something. Thanks!

OK, I'll do that, but please explain to me why having 2 servers instead of one would be better, because I was reading about cases in which you have more than one server and you would get pixelated channels and stuff like that. Can you tell me something about this? Thanks in advance.

You can have many servers on the DL and they dont interfere with each other. However you can turn them on or off if someone else is using it.

You have 10 slots for 10 different P$, however it is recommended that you have 2 or 3 P$ active at a time, and leave the others off if you are not using them. The reason for this is that the receiver will try and connect to all of the active P$ and cross-connect to all of them to give you the best connection possible.
For example, say you have NFPS. TV101, and Beaver TV, all south servers. Say you are watching a PPV event like UFC, assuming that all 3 of these servers are showing the PPV, the receiver will connect to all 3 and if 1 server freezes or lags, the receiver will automatically switch to the other 2 servers and try and eliminate the freezing or lag that the 1 server is experiencing. This is why you see the receiver download the packets first, decrypt and then it displays on the screen. When it decrypts, if it sees an error, it will scramble to another server if its active and go from there. It's pretty cool actually.
