I just got new v3 ..in info it says 2
i downloaded file 239 ,in info loader 1.2.20,hardwere v1.0.3,data basev1.0.1, firm werev 1.2.39 i have install jb200 and atsc also..
sat. i have 110,119,118,129 satting i followed , scanned .... but i can not lock on sat... i get 118 all the time .how can i lock each before i scan
i have tried 2 deff. codes still i get "connection failed" what i am doing Wrong?
please help thanks

friend my one problem is solved...i donot know what i did but i can lock my sat and down loaded 1000 channels.
BUT i can not connect i tried several time, check my input and use 2 codes but "CONNECTION FAILED"

Put your box on channel 200 then hard boot it.

i tried several time . nothing.. when i put on 200 and hared boot , when is on it goes back to ch.5757 when i try to connect after that it comes to 5757. what i should do . thanks

Try saving your channel data to a USB stick and then do a factory reset a couple of times then reload your channel file and see if you can do better. If you used your pc to create the server file, try to input them directly into the server location and BE SURE that you have turned the servers on!

We haven't even established that he has internet connectivity yet.

Very often 'can't connect' is due to simple network connectivity problem.

Can you ping your jynxbox?

If DHCP, does it have a valid IP in your network?

You could be killing yourself and it is something simple. On my box, when I first got it, I could not get DHCP to give me a valid IP. My network 192.168.1.xxx but it kept coming up 192.168.3.xxx . I had to switch it to Static and set an IP before I could get my server running.

Can we try something simple first?

i went on google and try to ping my pc. i could not find . i dont have run when i hit start button on my pc..i tried myip.com and found my ipxxx.xxx.xx.xx
i do not know how to find my ip on my j.box. i am tottaly lost any help will be appriciated thanks

You scanned but have no lock?
What kind and size of dish and what knb's and how many are you using?
If you could provide pics of you menu settings as well that may help.

Ping your STB to be sure it is actually on your network.
Find your network base address so you know what to do if your STB IP not works on DHCP.

Ok but now we know that you have internet connectivity.

Problem HAS to be in the server data. I had best luck enter the data by hand with the remote but you have to be super careful with dot and comma. Both are on the (1) key and you get comma if you press it twice... and you really have to squint to see it on the screen.

Last resort, use the program to build a server file.

are you using RJ45 cable or wifi, if it is wifi you need ben 239 and you will need to setup the wifi.

There is a program to make loadable server file for Jynx but I am not find it here. Files area says closed so I don't know if I can even get it and bring it here for you. Anyway, use that server file maker program. Is easy to use and get everything right cause its on your PC and you have a full keyboard. Save the file to your USB stick. Then load the server file to your Jynxbox off your USB stick. That is real easy.

Check it once you get it loaded. Then power off w/ rear switch and power back on. Full reset is always best.

Then check to see its all correct. When you are sure the select APPLY and hit (OK). That should get you connected. Make sure at main server page it shows as ON.

Hey Aeon, I am very reserved now about using that rear switch after what you posted here, http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?126656-Another-Dead-Jynx in post #6, when my Jynx died back in January

I did eventually get a replacement given to me, though it did take awhile, now I just leave it on, or use the on/off button on the remote. I noticed when using the remote it appears as though the receiver reboots which would appear to nullify the need to use the rear switch to reboot.

AFTER I ping .....i did fectory reset...........and i ran in to same problem of no lock on sat when i scan all lock i get is 118 now.
i am back to now same 2 problem 1 connection fail and no lock on sat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am frustrated... please help

Yes, I am sorry. I did say that. So used to the other boxes where rear switch is real power switch. Pull the plug instead.

Ok, go back and check your network information again. I am assuming that you have DHCP set to ON. 192.168.2.2 was IP of your box but now you did factory reset so now you must go look at your network info again. What is mask? What is gateway? What is DNS?

1st must have all of that correct. I would expect mask is 255.255.255.0. I assume your router is 192.168.2.1. Most of the time then I would set DNS 1 to 192.168.2.1 and DNS 2 to a public DNS such as 8.8.8.8 those values should all work based on your IP base being 192.168.2.xxx.

Now another trick to try if that does not get it... use the server's IP instead of their URL. So make server 2 the same as server 1 except use 31.3.155.35 instead of 12.nfpsserver.tv. then you can try to see if you have a DNS issue. Turn on server 2 and off server 1.

I think this part we have a plan.

Next work on the scan part.

tried both on and off connection failed
did i doit wrong somewere?

Look real close to your username and password, also your port. With the Jynxbox it is really easy to get something wrong. Even if it is only an added space at the beginning or end. Just reenter the information into another server location. I actually did that once before I discovered there was a leading space. Hope that will solve your problem.

Your Gateway is definitely wrong. If the router IP is 198.162.002.001 then that is what your gateway IP should be. The gateway is always the router's address that get you to the internet. If you have any questions or are just curious, look at your PC's gateway address. I posted instructions to do this. The Jynxbox would have to use the very same address to get access to the internet. I am also wondering about setting your Jynxbox static IP to 198.162.002.002 as that is within the DHCP range and could potentially cause an IP conflict. I would change that to 198.162.002.200 and that would ensure it does not conflict with any other device on DHCP.
Primary DHCP would need to change to same as gateway 198.162.002.001
Reboot with the remote after making those changes.

Now go to Menu / Installation / Dish settings and select 119 sat.
Make sure all settings are correct for 119 sat. I believe you said OCS-DP and it should be Diseqc 1.0 on Port 1
Go down to transponders.
Cycle up through them as the low number TPs are all spot beam. I think you will find one about 10 or 12 or so that give good signal and Q and will lock just fine. When you get this done Auto scan just this one sat before you go on to the next. Set Network = OFF for scan.

Have to do that for 110 and 129 too. You Factory default so all those settings went back to off.
Cycle up from the bottom.
