I'm having a problem with the audio on dolby digital PVR playbacks. The picture is perfect, but from time to time I get audio dropouts, no audio, only on recorded playback. Watching a show is no problem, but when I record at the same time, I have the problem. I've tried recording with USB memory stick or 160GB 7200 rpm HDD, the problem remains. I would think if it were a heat problem it would have an affect on the picture, but I have no picture problems. My box is only a few weeks old.
Any suggestions?
Has anyone else had the same problem?
Thanx

I dont think it's a HDD problem. I noticed when I record in cooler weather it seems to work better. I bought a 5volt fan and converted it to USB. Last night I tried recording with the fan over the top of the 8psq and the picture got very pixelated, so I moved the fan farther from the 8psk, increasing the heat on the 8psq, and it both recorded better and had no sound problems.
I'm starting to think it's a goldilocks fix, not to hot, not to cold.

You have to look at possible interference from the fan and the 8psk module if they are to close to each other. Just thinking...
