This is the one you have been waiting for. Can be installed on dd-wrt or open-wrt router

Handles NF HD r27 or r25 and also NF Sd original bins or the 255.255.255 bin

Rock solid, blows away noi and other pc clients

works just like the original bins did

Goggle Goofather Nfusion xx-client

I have Linksys Router that best suits using this program. Before installing on my router, I just wanted to double-check and make sure that this installation will not effect any computer or other devices working through my Wi-Fi system?? Your answer will be appreciated.

This link will take you to a dd-wrt micro bin with the xx-client preloaded for you. It was designed to be loaded on the linksys wrt54g or wrt54g2 routers. These things are selling for less than $20 on ebay. Why not just buy 1 to play with, and if you mess something up somehow, you still have your original router as a fall back..........

do you just hook your linksys to your existing router, all the how too's I've read or come across doesn't say what you do with the linksys, nor does it say how you load a file,, IE cat5 from pc/laptop to the linksys. thanks

If you read the tutorial that the gentleman put together it tells you to refer to the dd-wrt website to determine if dd-wrt firmware can be used on your router, specifically the micro bin, and how to flash your specific router.

Don't know. You will have to go to the dd-wrt website and look at the router database. I found a few trendnet's listed but you didn't mention a model number.

goofather , will this work with a D-link 601. dd-wrt website says to load dir601a1-factory-to-ddwrt-firmware, would I load that than your file next, or just your file?

xx-client works on your router but this firmware does not. I know a few people with that router that have installed xx-client on them. It runs the xx-client-atheros compile.

You can manually install with dd-wrt or OpenWRT, but OpenWRT is decidedly easier to work with. If you go with OpenWRT be sure to use the squashfs version of the firmware.

Just make sure your router is a Rev.A1.

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dir-600

For an example of a manual install on a OpenWRT router refer to this:

It works for 24 and 25 now.

There was a mistake and miscommunication when getting 25 to work. Once I got 25 working for both providers, 24 started working too.

is there any sort of console we can log into to view communications for debug purposes? Also the Client ID that it puts out is weird..... shows up as ? (0x7878)

?7878

7878 is xx in ascii...for xx-client....

use putty and telnet into the router and run xx-client from there. For errors they are reported in the system log.

Not reliably. Only one receiver per xx-client for now.

I'm currently running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) mini v21061 on my Linksys e1200. Can I just load dd-wr goo2 on top of it?

Thanks!

You will have to check the dd-wrt website to see if that router can accept micro bins.

The modified bin is DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/13) micro r21676.

I only created the bin for those cheap wrt54g routers that sell for $10 on ebay, cheaper in thrift stores around the country. I bought mine for $3.00. The micro bin can work on other routers but that wasn't the original intention and you will have to do some research to see if the bin will work on your router. The dd-wrt website is very well documented with a plethora of information on almost all known routers.

Modifying the bin was the only option to get these cheap routers to work (mainly v5 - v8). Everyone else can do a manual install.

Yes, the nfusion protocol in xx-client supports SD as well on both providers. Use the last officially released bin for your receiver.

Just got my wrt54g v8 in the mail. went in with 192.168.1.1, tried to update firmware with dd-wr-goo.v24_micro_generic-2.bin,
just keep getting update failed. I tried tftp.exe & tftp2.exe, set to greater than 10 reties, no go. even tried to flash dd-wrt.v24-9330_micro_wrt54gv81.bin & dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin, same errors. Any one have a hint or two?

Here is your hint:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

They have instructions for flashing all wrt54g versions. Look for version 8 when you search.

I also posted links to flashing all wrt54g version....

Yes you posted this link:
http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G_v7.2_%26_8.0_%26_v8.2#Gv8.0_.26_v8. 2_.28see_below_for_v8.1.29

and I must have read something wrong, I seen this "Gv8.0 & v8.2 (see below for v8.1)", so I read what was listed for 8.1, and the first line stated "The WRT54Gv8.1 router already has a Linux CFE in the flash. There is no need for running any prep or killer file before the initial flash. ", So I tried to flash your file, hence my last post. I when back to www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database and downloaded vxworkskillerGv8-v3.bin, flash worked with this file, than flashed your bin. Updated script for the ps, will try my Nfusion HD tomorrow. Thank-you.

Well, you did say you had a v8 not a v8.1......

I am only pointing this out so others know that specific versions are important. The flashing instructions for a v8.1 won't necessarily be the same for a v8.0.

This is why everyone is told to go to the dd-wrt website, verify and use their instructions. Imagine if someone had a v8.1 and they told me they had a v8. If I went with that information my advice could potentially brick their router.

Here is my dilemma. I have a wireless router going to my main PC in the office and I have a bridge attached . company name is Dlink Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/accessPoint that goes to my NFHD receiver. What do I have to do to get rid of the NOI and not have an issue with all my iphone and ipad running on the main router?

I know about computers but wireless is not my forte.

My problem was I had to us the IP address instead of the domain name. Now I have this as my log and still don't have a connection for picture or sound:

[01/01 @ 00:00:11] XX-Client NF Edition v1.0 - Started.

If you have to use IP instead of domain it probably means you didn't set a DNS on the router.

You also may want to review the PDF on what the IP settings need to be on your receiver.
